Chapter 15: The Language of Love

The evening light spilled softly into their penthouse as the family returned home. Aradhya, who had just said her first word, was asleep in Veeresh’s arms, while Ayan walked proudly holding Poornima’s hand, still boasting about how his mom got a card from him.

After placing the kids gently in their nursery, Veeresh walked into their room. Poornima was already there, undoing the pleats of her saree with slow fingers. He watched her in silence for a moment—this woman who had changed his world, piece by piece, without even trying.

He stepped behind her, gently wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his chin on her shoulder.

“I’m so happy today…” he whispered, voice thick with emotion. “I never thought Ayan would find that ‘mother feeling’ again.”

Poornima paused. Her fingers stopped moving.

Then, without words, she reached for his hand resting on her stomach and held it tight.

That one gesture… more powerful than any words.

Veeresh knew—she felt it too. She just wasn’t someone who expressed through grand speeches. Her actions, her presence, her silence—they all spoke volumes.

He turned her around slowly to face him. Their eyes met, filled with so many emotions—grief, healing, hope… and love.

He cupped her face gently.

“You don’t have to say it. I know. But today… let me say it all.”

And before she could react, he pulled her into a deep, passionate kiss, pouring into it all his gratitude, love, and longing.

She kissed him back, slow and tender, melting into his embrace.

When they finally pulled apart, he whispered against her lips, teasing with a grin,

“One day, I want you to shout my name so loud… the stars hear it.”

She let out a soft laugh, her cheeks flushed. She didn’t reply with words.

Instead, she rested her head on his chest, and whispered quietly,

“You already live there, Veeresh… in my heartbeat.”

His arms tightened around her, and the world faded. Just them, wrapped in quiet love, a promise unspoken—of forever.
