Chapter 21: Glowing and Grumbling
It was a quiet evening in the Suryavanshi penthouse. Poornima sat on the bed, wearing a loose pastel nightgown, gently rubbing her small but growing baby bump. Veeresh walked in, fresh from a shower, towel around his neck, and a mischievous glint in his eyes.
He leaned against the doorway, watching her.
“You’re glowing, Mrs. Suryavanshi. Like… divine glowing. Goddess glowing. Dangerous for my self-control glowing.” he said with a teasing smirk.
Poornima rolled her eyes. “You're a complete pervert, Veeresh. Can’t you speak normally for once?”
He walked closer, sitting beside her and placing a hand protectively on her bump. “Not my fault. You’re making it hard. You glow and smile, and I start planning baby number four.”
Her eyes widened. “FOUR?! I swear, I’ll sleep in the kids’ room. Don’t talk rubbish. Babies can hear us.”
Veeresh leaned closer and whispered dramatically to her belly, “Baby, come soon. Amma and Appa are missing our routine.”
Poornima gasped and playfully pushed him away. “Go out! Sleep on the balcony. I don’t want your nonsense near my baby.”
He chuckled, not budging. “Can’t help it. You're my favorite view, my comfort zone, my troublemaker.”
“I hate you, Mr. Suryavanshi,” she muttered, turning her face away with mock anger.
He gently tucked her hair behind her ear and whispered, “And I love you, Mrs. Suryavanshi. With all your drama, attitude, and that ‘I-hate-you’ expression which is my favorite.”
She glanced at him sideways, unable to hold back the shy smile forming at her lips.
“I’ll let you stay in the room tonight,” she said softly, “But don’t you dare whisper to my baby again like that.”
Veeresh grinned. “Deal. I’ll whisper to you instead.”
Poornima rolled her eyes, hiding her blush behind a pillow.
Scene fades with both laughing softly, Veeresh placing a gentle kiss on her forehead, and their baby kicking inside as if joining the fun.
