Chapter 28: The Confrontation

The café was quiet, the soft hum of conversation in the background.

Sahana sat at a corner table, confident, composed, and waiting.

Veeresh walked in—sharp, calm, but with fire in his eyes.

He sat across from her, without a smile.

“Why did you go to Ayan’s school?” he asked bluntly.

Sahana smirked. “Why shouldn’t I? He’s my son, Veeresh. I gave birth to him.”

Veeresh leaned forward, laughing under his breath, his voice low and fierce.

“You’re right. You gave birth to him. And then what did you do?”

He locked his gaze on her.

“You left him. When he was just ten days old. For what? Your career. Your freedom.”

“I never stopped him from knowing you. But you don’t get to walk in now and poison his mind.”

Sahana’s expression darkened. “Poornima will never be his mother. No matter how much you pretend. I’ll take Ayan away from her. From you.”

Veeresh stood up slowly, towering over her with a chilling calmness.

He chuckled—mocking and sharp.

“Take him? You think it’s that easy? Try. I dare you.”

He stepped closer, voice steady but thunderous in its weight.

“You left your son. Poornima picked up the pieces. She tucked him in, heard his fears, wiped his tears. She’s not just his mother now—she’s his home.”

“And yes, she’s in the RBI. She works full-time. Manages two toddlers, one school-going daughter, and our son—and still has more strength than you’ll ever understand.”

Sahana’s lip trembled with fury, but Veeresh didn’t flinch.

“You want to play games with my son’s heart? You’ll lose. Because he knows who his real family is. And trust me, I will never let you break that.”

Without waiting for her reply, Veeresh turned and walked away, unshaken, leaving her stunned and speechless.
