Chapter 15: “A New Name in the Family”

(Dhanush–Priyanka • Family Bond • Veeresh–Poornima)

---

🏡 Shastri Mansion – Evening

The atmosphere was calm and golden as the sunset filtered through the antique curtains. Narayana was reading a business journal. Veeresh was scrolling through hospital records for Poornima’s follow-up. Neha was helping Poornima gently massage her back with warm oil, chatting casually.

Dhanush came down the stairs, nervous yet smiling. He cleared his throat loudly.

Dhanush (to everyone):

“Umm… I have something to say.”

Everyone looked up. Veeresh arched an eyebrow. Narayana lowered his journal slightly.

Dhanush (voice steady):

“I… I’ve met someone. Online, initially. Her name is Priyanka. And I really like her. I want you all to meet her.”

For a moment, silence.

Then…

Neha (with a big smile):

“Really?! That’s amazing, Dhanush!”

Veeresh (grinning):

“About time! Our Cyber Romeo is finally off the market.”

Narayana (closing his journal slowly):

“What’s her background?”

Dhanush:

“She’s independent, works in tech too. Strong-headed. Passionate. You’ll like her.”

Narayana nodded once. That was enough.

Narayana:

“Bring her home. Let’s meet her.”

Dhanush’s shoulders relaxed. His eyes lit up. He looked at Poornima and Neha — they both gave him a thumbs-up.

🕯️ Later That Night – Veeresh and Poornima’s Room

Poornima stood by the mirror, wearing a loose kurti. As she turned sideways to fix her braid, the reflection clearly showed the small but distinct curve of her belly.

Veeresh walked in, silently watching her. He walked behind and wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on her shoulder.

Veeresh (softly):

“It’s visible now…”

Poornima smiled faintly, placing her hand on his.

Poornima:

“Sometimes it scares me… but mostly, it makes me feel like I’m never alone.”

He kissed her shoulder tenderly, his eyes on their reflection.

Veeresh:

“You’re not. Not anymore. Not ever.”

She leaned back into him, closing her eyes, holding onto the warmth.

In the quiet room, their hearts beat as one — for love, for the life growing within, for the future.
