Chapter 14: New Beginnings, Same Love
The golden morning sunlight peeked through the curtains, falling softly over the cozy bed where Veeresh and Poornima slept peacefully in each other's arms. There was no anger between them now—only a quiet togetherness, built on wounds, truth, and forgiveness.
Poornima stirred first, blinking as she turned to see Veeresh still fast asleep, his arms loosely around her.
She tried to move, but he held her tighter.
"Five more minutes..." he mumbled, his voice heavy with sleep.
She chuckled, brushing his hair. “If you don’t let me go, I’ll wear jeans to the office.”
His eyes snapped open. “No! Wait! You’re wearing a saree today.”
She raised a brow. “Oh really? And who’s going to drape it for me?”
Veeresh smirked.
---
A few minutes later, laughter echoed in the room as Veeresh stood behind her, fumbling with the pleats of her cream saree.
“Too tight! That’s not where the pin goes!” she teased, biting back a grin.
“Stay still, or you’ll go to the office wrapped like a blanket.”
After a few clumsy turns and soft touches, he finally stood back and admired his work.
Poornima looked at herself in the mirror, cheeks turning pink.
“Not bad, Mr. Husband.”
He came close, whispering near her ear,
“You look beautiful, Mrs. Best Friend.”
---
They had a simple breakfast together—idlis and coffee, sitting quietly but smiling like it was the first time in years.
“Can I drop you today?” he asked, sipping his coffee.
Poornima nodded with a soft smile. “Yes.”
They both stepped out—her draped in elegance, him calm and content—and walked toward the bike.
Veeresh looked at her once more and whispered,
“Let’s make today a good day.”
She smiled and said, “Let’s make every day like this.”
They rode off into the morning traffic of Bangalore—not just as Veeresh and Poornima, but as two hearts slowly falling in love again.
