Chapter 50 – Eyes That Speak
The next day at the college, the usual chaos of students filled the corridors. Professors moved briskly between rooms, but for Veeresh, the moment he stepped inside, his eyes searched only for her.
Poornima was already there, arranging her books on her desk, her white dupatta draped lightly, strands of her hair escaping her bun. She didn’t need to look up—she felt his presence, the way the air shifted when he walked in.
Veeresh paused, just a few steps away, his gaze fixed on her. His sharp, commanding eyes softened only for her, and in that unspoken language they had built, he told her, “Come to my penthouse.”
Poornima glanced up and their eyes met. A small smile curved her lips, so subtle that only he could notice.
Veeresh’s brows narrowed slightly, a question flashing in his eyes. “Why are you laughing?”
Poornima lowered her lashes for a second, then looked at him again, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “I just felt like laughing.”
His jaw tightened, his lips twitched in a half-smirk. His eyes darkened with a silent promise, his stare burning into her. “You’ll shout my name until your voice is gone.”
Her breath caught, her smile grew wider, but she quickly lowered her gaze before anyone else could notice the storm of emotions passing between them.
Veeresh broke the moment first, straightening his posture. Without a word, he picked up his economics book, his expression shifting back into that of the stern, commanding professor. He walked towards his class with the same magnetic authority that made every student fall silent.
Poornima watched him go, her heart racing, still feeling the heat of his unspoken words. She smiled again to herself, her fingers brushing over her book, as though holding onto the secret only the two of them shared.
