Chapter 57 – The Penthouse Promise
After college, Poornima stepped out, ready to head home. But she didn’t make it far. Veeresh’s car pulled up smoothly, the window rolling down. His eyes met hers, sharp and unreadable.
“Get in,” he said simply.
She obeyed, sliding into the passenger seat. Neither spoke much on the drive, but the silence was heavy with anticipation.
At the penthouse, the city lights glowed through the vast windows, painting the room in gold. Poornima set her bag aside, but before she could turn, Veeresh was there—closing the distance, pulling her flush against him.
“You smiled too much today,” he said, his voice low, rough with restrained passion.
Poornima blinked up at him, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “And what if I did?”
His grip tightened on her waist, his forehead pressing against hers. “Then I’ll erase every smile that isn’t for me.”
She laughed softly, her arms wrapping around his neck. “You’re impossible, Veer.”
“Impossible only for you,” he replied, his lips capturing hers in a kiss that was deep, claiming, filled with everything he couldn’t say out loud.
The world outside could never know, but within the four walls of his penthouse, Veeresh didn’t need to hide. And Poornima—his wife, his secret, his anchor—gave herself to him again, willingly, completely.
That night wasn’t just passion—it was a promise. A promise that no matter what dangers his mission brought, no matter what pressure her family forced, they would always find their way back here, to each other.
