Sunlight streamed through the sheer curtains, spilling warmth across the room. Poornima stirred awake, her body aching gently, a reminder of the night that had bound her to Veeresh forever.
She turned her head and found him still asleep, his features softened in rare peace. For a moment, she simply watched him — the ruthless Lucifer now looking nothing more than a boy who had finally found home.
Carefully, she slipped out of bed, freshened up in the washroom, and adjusted her saree. When she returned, Veeresh was already awake, his smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Go freshen up,” Poornima said softly, trying to sound casual, but her cheeks warmed under his gaze.
He obeyed without argument, disappearing into the washroom. Moments later, he returned in his crisp suit, hair damp, his presence once again that of the powerful businessman.
But instead of picking up his tie, he handed it to her. “Do it,” he said simply.
Her fingers trembled as she looped the silk around his neck, adjusting the knot carefully. He watched her the entire time, eyes burning with something deeper than words.
When she finished, he leaned down, close enough for his breath to brush her lips. “Now that we are husband and wife… you won’t miss my calls or messages. Ever.”
Poornima’s lips curved in a soft smile. “I won’t.”
Before she could lower her gaze, his hand tilted her chin up, and he kissed her — deeply, thoroughly, as though sealing the promise.
Breaking the kiss, Veeresh whispered against her lips, voice thick with emotion. “I love you. I’ve waited for this day… for you… all my life.”
Her heart melted, her eyes glistening as she smiled back at him, the weight of his words sinking in.
In that quiet morning, among whispered vows and unspoken emotions, Poornima realized — she wasn’t just Veeresh’s best friend anymore. She was his everything.
