Chapter 26 – Morning Rituals

The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, and Poornima stirred awake. She realized she had slept again, hugging Veeresh. His hand remained firm on her waist, a mark of their closeness from the night before. Carefully, she slid out of bed, gently freeing herself and freshened up quietly.

Moving to the children’s room, she found Anaya and Aarav still half-asleep. With patience and care, she got them dressed, brushing Anaya’s hair into neat little plaits and tucking Aarav into his tiny shirt. She hummed softly as she prepared breakfast, making sure both children had warm food to start their day. Anaya giggled as Poornima fed her, while Aarav cooed happily in her arms.

By the time she reached the dining room with breakfast ready, Veeresh had already come down, looking every bit the sharp, commanding businessman he was. Poornima set the plate in front of him, and he began to eat silently, his eyes occasionally glancing at her.

When he finished, he placed his cutlery down and said, his tone unwavering yet calm, “Tomorrow onwards, every day… my tea and my suit should be ready before I leave.”

Poornima chuckled softly, a playful glint in her eyes.

“I’m serious,” Veeresh added, his gaze firm, leaving no room for argument.

Poornima smiled, shaking her head slightly. “Alright, I will.”

A small, satisfied smile appeared on Veeresh’s lips. There was no need for further words—their lives were slowly settling into a rhythm, a balance between family warmth and his commanding world.

And somewhere deep inside, both knew this morning ritual was only the beginning of something stronger, closer, and more tender between them.
