Poornima’s flight touched down in India, and as she stepped out of the airport, the warm air felt different from London — heavier, but filled with purpose. She took a deep breath, straightened her posture, and prepared herself for the task ahead.
By late morning, she reached Rathore Industries. The lobby was bustling as usual, but her mind was focused, determined.
She walked confidently into the boardroom, where the directors and senior staff were already gathered.
“Good morning,” she said politely, yet with authority. “I’m here to understand the issues in detail. Please, brief me.”
The directors began explaining the ongoing problems — mismanaged projects, client complaints, production delays, and the unrest among employees since Sahana had taken over.
Poornima listened carefully, taking notes, asking precise questions, and analyzing the root causes. Every piece of information she gathered gave her a clear picture of what needed to be done.
After a few hours, she concluded the meeting. Her expression was calm, confident, but determined.
“I’ve understood the issues,” she said firmly. “Give me seven days to solve them. After that, everything should be back on track.”
The directors nodded, impressed by her decisiveness and clarity.
As she stepped out of the building, her phone buzzed.
It was Veeresh.
“Poornima,” he said, his voice low but steady, “what’s the situation?”
She quickly explained the problems and the plan she had set in motion.
“Do it,” he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for hesitation. “If you need any help, call me immediately.”
A small smile appeared on her face. “Thanks, Veeresh. I’ve got it handled, but I’ll let you know if anything critical comes up.”
“Good. Make it count,” he said, before ending the call.
Poornima felt a quiet warmth in her chest. Even from afar, he trusted her. And that trust, even in small gestures, made her feel stronger, more determined.
She looked up at the towering building, resolved.
Seven days. I’ll fix everything. And then… I’ll come back to London. Back to him.
