Chapter 2: The Night That Changed Everything

The city was quiet that night.

Rain tapped gently against the windows of Jungkook’s black car as it cut through the misty streets. He’d just left a late meeting, another deal sealed, another victory to add to the Jeon empire.

He should have gone straight home.

He should have locked his doors and ignored the strange pull in his chest — the ache that had been building all day.

But the moment the first wave of his rut hit, Jungkook’s breath faltered. His hands clenched around the steering wheel, knuckles white. His Alpha instincts — the ones he always kept locked under perfect control — suddenly broke free.

His scent grew heavier, more intoxicating. He didn’t even understand why it was happening now.

It wasn’t time yet. Not for another month.

And then — he caught another scent.

Soft. Sweet. Familiar. Jimin.

He was nearby, his scent carried through the night air, warm and trembling — unmistakably in heat.

Jungkook’s mind screamed to stay away.

Taehyung was his Omega. The world knew it.

The Jeon heir and the Park Omega — it was supposed to be destiny.

But destiny never asked for permission.

When he reached the apartment building, his vision blurred. Jimin’s scent was stronger inside, filling every corner of the dimly lit room. His voice — weak, broken — whispered Jungkook’s name once. And that was all it took.

Two instincts collided — heat and rut — and the world fell away.

When it was over, silence hung in the air. The night had cooled, but Jungkook’s heartbeat hadn’t. His mark shimmered faintly against Jimin’s skin — a symbol that could not be undone.

He froze, horror slowly creeping in as the haze lifted.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. Not to him.

Not to the Alpha who always controlled everything.

Jimin lay curled beside him, his breathing soft, unaware of the storm that would soon rise.

Because in their world, marks meant everything.

And when word reached Lord Namjoon, ruler of the Alpha Council, and his bonded Omega Jin, there would be no mercy.

Jungkook stared out at the fading moonlight, the weight of his mistake pressing down on him.

For the first time, the mighty Alpha Jeon felt fear — not for himself, but for the Omega he had just bound to his soul.

And somewhere across the city, Taehyung woke suddenly, clutching his chest… feeling the invisible thread between them break.
