Soft light slipped through the curtains, brushing across the dark apartment.
Jungkook stirred, his head heavy, his mind fogged with memories he wished weren’t real.
The faint scent of warmth and sweetness still lingered in the air — Jimin’s scent. It was stronger now, tied to him in a way it had never been before.
And when Jungkook opened his eyes, he saw him — curled up at the edge of the bed, shoulders trembling, tears slipping silently down his cheeks.
For a moment, neither spoke. The silence was thick — full of things neither wanted to face.
“...Jimin,” Jungkook said quietly, sitting up. His voice came out rough, unsteady. “Look at me.”
Jimin shook his head, clutching the blanket around him. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I didn’t mean for this to happen, Alpha… I— I’m engaged. To Yoongi.”
Jungkook’s jaw tightened. “And I’m engaged to Taehyung,” he replied, his tone low, almost bitter. “I know.”
Their eyes met — one filled with guilt, the other with regret. The weight of their mistake hung between them, heavy as stone.
“I don’t know what happened,” Jungkook said after a moment, his voice softer now. “My rut came early. Your heat pulled me in. It wasn’t supposed to be like this… but in the process…” He paused, looking away, ashamed. “My Alpha marked you.”
Jimin gasped quietly. His trembling hand went to his neck — to the faint, glowing mark that shimmered under the morning light. The bond pulsed gently, his Omega side responding with quiet happiness even as tears fell again.
“My Omega’s happy…” he whispered, brokenly. “But I’m not supposed to be.”
Jungkook’s eyes darkened. “Stop crying,” he said firmly, though his voice trembled. “What’s done is done. You didn’t force this — neither of us did. But now we’ll have to face it.”
He stood, pulling on his shirt, the usual coldness returning to his tone. “Lord Namjoon will know. He always does. And when he finds out, he won’t just summon me — he’ll summon us.”
Jimin looked up, fear filling his eyes.
“Namjoon… and his bonded Omega Jin…” he whispered. “They’ll never forgive us.”
Jungkook clenched his fists, staring out the window where the rain had started again. “Let them come,” he said quietly, more to himself than to Jimin. “I’ll face them. But you—” he looked back, his eyes softening — “don’t cry again. Not for this. Not for me.”
For the first time, Jimin saw something human in the Alpha everyone called heartless.
And even though the world outside was waiting to tear them apart, in that fragile moment, all that existed was regret… and the unbreakable bond neither of them had meant to create.
