Chapter 10 — The Moment They Chose Each Other

Poornima’s breathing was still uneven from crying.

Her fingers trembled against Veeresh’s shirt, and she finally lifted her face to look at him—really look.

Her voice came out small, broken, honest.

“I need you.”

Veeresh froze.

His hand, still on her cheek, went completely still. His eyes widened slightly—like those words were the last thing he ever expected from her.

He swallowed hard.

“Poornima…”

His voice was low, almost shaky.

“You’re sure?”

She nodded, tears still hanging at the corners of her lashes.

“Yes,” she whispered.

“I’m tired of running from what I feel.

Tired of pretending I don’t care.

I want you… I want us.”

A breath left him—like the world finally made sense to him after years of silence.

He leaned his forehead against hers, his voice rough with emotion.

“After this… I’m not letting you go away again.

Not even for a second.”

She closed her eyes, a tiny smile appearing through her tears.

“I don’t want to go,” she answered softly.

“For the first time… I want to stay.”

The tension between them shifted—no longer painful, no longer sharp.

It softened, deepened, warmed.

He touched her cheek gently, as if she was something fragile and precious.

“Then come to me,” he whispered.

And she did.

---

They melted into each other—not in desire, but in acceptance. 🌙

No rush.

No darkness.

No confusion.

Just two hearts finally beating in the same rhythm.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him like she had been waiting for this moment for years.

He pulled her close, his grip firm but reverent, his chin resting against her shoulder as relief washed through him.

For the first time, he wasn’t the cold bodyguard.

He wasn’t the untouchable protector.

He was just Veeresh—a man who finally let himself feel.

And she was just Poornima—a woman who finally felt seen.

Her soft, breathy sounds—little gasps, little relieved sighs—weren’t from pain or passion.

They were from happiness.

From healing.

From finally finding peace in the person she once ran from.

Veeresh held her as if she was the only real thing in his world.

Her hands tightened around him.

His lips brushed her forehead, then her temple—gentle, slow, asking permission with every movement.

She nodded against him, letting him know it was okay.

They surrendered—not bodies, but hearts. ❤️

They chose each other without hesitation.

Without fear.

Without past shadows holding them back.

And as they lay together, wrapped in each other’s warmth, Poornima whispered:

“Veeresh… I’m happy.”

He closed his eyes, holding her even closer.

“So am I,” he murmured.

“For the first time in my life… I am truly happy.”

And in the quiet of that morning light, two souls finally found their home. 🌅
