Chapter: After the Trip
They had returned from the five-day trip, but the closeness they had shared there hadn’t faded even a little. If anything, Veeresh seemed even more drawn to Poornima, as if being away together had made him more aware of how much she belonged in his world.
He stayed close to her—always reaching for her, always watching her with that familiar intensity. Poornima noticed it and smiled to herself. Sometimes she would tease him on purpose, stepping away just to see him pull her back, laughing softly when he pretended to be annoyed.
Veeresh would stand behind her while she got ready, adjusting the folds of her saree with care, his touch steady and protective. His possessiveness wasn’t loud or controlling—it was quiet, constant, and filled with love. Poornima didn’t mind it at all. In fact, she loved it. It made her feel wanted, chosen, safe.
She would catch her reflection and smile, knowing exactly why he was the way he was. This was Veeresh—intense, devoted, and deeply in love with her.
Yet, beneath her smiles and teasing, another feeling was slowly growing. A softer one. A thought that lingered longer each day. The idea of a child. Of a future that included more than just the two of them.
She didn’t say it out loud yet. She simply held the feeling close to her heart, letting it exist quietly while she rested in his arms, knowing that when the time was right, they would talk about it—just like they always did.
