Chapter 44: A House That Waits

Before leaving, Veeresh stood near the door and looked at the three of them.
“Come home soon,” he said. “My company team has kept a small party. Be on time.”

Rudra saluted him dramatically. “Yes, sir.”

Ramir nodded. “We’ll be there.”

Mannat smiled. “Don’t worry.”

Veeresh turned to Poornima, kissed her cheek softly, and left for the office. She watched him go, a quiet happiness settling inside her.

The house grew calm again.

Poornima went to the room and began arranging her things—clothes folded carefully, books placed neatly, little personal touches finding their space. It felt strange and comforting at the same time, like stepping into a life she had waited long to choose.

As she cleaned, her thoughts wandered.

She knew there would be problems. Questions. Adjustments. Life never became perfect just because love arrived. But she also knew something else now—they would sort it out. Together.

She smiled to herself, wiping the last shelf.

The house wasn’t just filled with people anymore.

It was filled with intention, patience, and a quiet belief that whatever came next, they were ready to face it—as one.
