Chapter 50: Lunch and Certainty
Poornima had come to deliver lunch, carrying the biriyani he had requested that morning. She stepped into his office quietly, hearing the tail end of Veeresh’s conversation with Ridhima.
Her heart swelled. She knew, without a doubt, that he would never cheat. And today… today, her love for him only grew stronger.
She knocked lightly, and Veeresh looked up, a small smile breaking across his face. “Come in.”
Poornima entered, her smile extending even to Ridhima, who was still in the room. Veeresh tensed for a moment, wondering if Poornima would doubt him—but before he could speak, Poornima took control.
“Ridhima,” she said warmly, “why don’t you join us for lunch?”
Ridhima shook her head, a soft smile on her lips. “No, Poornima. You both have lunch together. We’ll eat at the house later.”
Poornima nodded, smiling again, and walked away gracefully.
Veeresh exhaled, relief flooding him. “Poornima… there is nothing between me and her.”
She turned to him, calm and confident. “Veer, I know you. Stop worrying about it. Let’s just have lunch.”
Before he could protest, Veeresh pulled her gently toward him and made her sit on his lap.
“Now,” he said softly, a playful glint in his eyes, “feed me.”
Poornima laughed, shaking her head but obeyed happily, spooning the biriyani into his mouth with love, warmth, and a sense of absolute certainty.
In that moment, nothing else mattered—just the two of them, laughter, love, and the quiet happiness that only comes from knowing your heart is exactly where it belongs.
