Chapter 42: Coming Home to Love

The Raisinghania mansion stood grand and welcoming, yet there was a sense of anticipation in the air. Veeresh and Poornima walked in together, their hands intertwined, steady and unshakable.

Veeresh stopped near the entrance and looked at his father, voice firm.
“Dad… you called me here?”

Raghuvan nodded, a hint of pride and warmth in his eyes.
“We want you to come back, Veeresh. Stay here—with your wife.”

Veeresh’s jaw tightened slightly, a shadow of his old stubbornness, but he looked at Poornima, his hand finding hers again.
“If you think I will leave her… that’s not possible,” he said clearly. “She is mine. Always.”

Rayan stepped forward, smiling.
“We called you both to come back. The house has waited for you two together.”

Veeresh gave a subtle nod.
“Alright,” he said, final and confident.

Sharada, his mother, stepped forward, her eyes soft with acceptance. She welcomed Poornima warmly, placing bangles on her wrists and blessing her. “You are part of our family now, my daughter,” she said, her voice gentle but sincere.

Raghuvan, standing tall, instructed them, “You both will perform the aarti. Take blessings together.”

Hand in hand, Veeresh and Poornima performed the aarti, the fire reflecting in their eyes—devotion, unity, and love intertwined in every gesture. They bowed to their elders, receiving blessings that were more than formalities—they were a seal of belonging, a promise of support.

After the rituals, Veeresh led her to his room, closing the door gently behind them. The atmosphere shifted—quiet, intimate, filled with a sense of coming home.

He pulled her close, hand firm on her waist, and kissed her. Deep. Long. As if to remind both of them that after everything—the betrayals, the pain, the distance—they were finally together, uninterrupted.

Poornima melted into him, the weight of the year’s struggles lifting. And as he pulled her closer, wrapping her into his arms, the world outside faded away—the mansion, the expectations, the past—all replaced by the simple, undeniable truth: they belonged to each other.
