Chapter: Into His World

The car stopped at Taj.

Lights glowed softly against the night.

As they stepped out, Veeresh reached for Poornima’s hand.

She felt it—firm, warm.

And she didn’t pull away.

He held her hand naturally, not to claim her, but to steady her.

Together, they walked inside.

Veeresh introduced her to everyone—

investors, collaborators, partners, people who shaped his world.

“This is Poornima,” he said each time.

“The woman I’m marrying.”

No titles.

No explanations.

She greeted them all with calm politeness—smiling, listening more than speaking, answering when needed.

Not nervous.

Not overconfident.

Just grounded.

Veeresh watched her quietly, pride settling deep in his chest.

She belongs here, he thought.

The evening flowed easily.

He spoke.

She listened.

She spoke when it mattered.

He paid attention.

Dinner was light, conversations meaningful.

For once, business didn’t feel heavy.

Later, he dropped her back at the penthouse.

Before she stepped out, Veeresh reached into his pocket and brought out a small box.

Inside was a blueberry-colored diamond stone necklace—simple, delicate.

“For you,” he said.

Poornima looked at it, surprised.

He stepped closer and fastened it around her neck himself, his fingers careful, respectful.

“It’s beautiful,” she said softly.

“Thank you.”

He pressed her hand gently—just once.

“Good night,” he said.

“Good night,” she replied.

He watched her walk inside before leaving.

Standing alone for a moment, Poornima touched the necklace.

It wasn’t heavy.

It didn’t weigh her down.

It felt like a promise made quietly.
