Chapter 19

The Man Who Chose Steel

The glass doors of Raisinghania Industries opened as walked in, expression unreadable, mind louder than the city outside.

Inayat’s voice echoed in his head — “Good morning, mumma.”

His jaw tightened.

His stepmother smiling at Poornima.

His father accepting her without resistance.

The way she fit into his world… without trying.

“Why am I feeling this?” he muttered under his breath.

He stopped near the window of his cabin, looking at the skyline.

“Get a grip, Veeresh,” he told himself coldly. “You promised Akash. Protection. Responsibility. Nothing more.”

He shut his eyes for a second.

“I am not that man anymore.”

The warmth he once carried had died years ago.

All that remained was discipline, ambition, and control.

A knock on the door pulled him back.

Rayan and Ritwik entered carefully.

“Sir, the investors are waiting in the boardroom. The merger expansion deal needs your final approval and signature.”

Veeresh nodded once.

Professional mask on.

Emotions off.

He entered the boardroom like a storm contained in a suit.

The investors stood up immediately.

Without wasting time, he began.

“Our merger between Raisinghania Industries and Shekhawat Group has stabilized operations by 28% in one quarter,” he said, voice steady and commanding. “Today’s deal is for international logistics expansion. We move manufacturing to Singapore ports, reduce tax overhead by 12%, and increase export capacity by 40%.”

Slides changed.

Numbers spoke.

Power shifted.

“This is not a risk,” he continued, locking eyes with each investor, “it’s dominance. If you sign today, you don’t invest in a company. You invest in control of the market.”

Silence filled the room.

Then one by one, signatures followed.

Deal closed.

Everyone congratulated him.

But while hands shook around him, his mind wandered back to a little girl calling someone else mumma… and to a woman who walked into his mansion and made it feel less empty.

He clenched his fist slightly.

Business was easier than feelings.

And he chose business.

One line:
He conquered the market with confidence, but his own heart remained the only territory he refused to explore.
