Chapter 47
Mannat aur Jannat
In his cabin, was staring at nothing in particular — but his expression had changed. It was softer.
Rayan and Ritwik noticed immediately.
Rayan smirked. “Sir… imagining madam?”
Ritwik added, “How is the imagination, sir?”
Veeresh threw a pen at them without looking up. They both laughed.
“Tell us, sir,” Rayan said teasingly. “What happened?”
For a moment, Veeresh stayed silent. Then he leaned back in his chair.
“I told her everything.”
Ritwik, who knew about his past, straightened slightly. “Everything… sir?”
“Yes,” Veeresh replied quietly. “About Mom. About my ex-wife. About the betrayal. About how I heard them.”
The teasing vanished.
“And?” Rayan asked carefully.
“She didn’t question anything,” Veeresh said, his voice slower now. “She didn’t judge. She didn’t pity. She just sat there… with me.”
A small smile appeared on Ritwik’s face. “That’s rare, sir.”
Veeresh nodded.
“My Kincsem,” he murmured unconsciously.
Rayan raised an eyebrow. “Sir?”
Veeresh looked at them, and for once there was no arrogance in his tone — only truth.
“She is my mannat… the wish I never asked for. The one in whom I see my jannat.”
They both went quiet.
Because they had seen Veeresh ruthless, broken, angry.
But this?
This was different.
This was a man who had finally allowed himself to feel.
He wasn’t imagining her.
He was acknowledging her.
And for Veeresh Raisinghania, that meant everything.
One line:
Kabhi kabhi mannat maangni nahi padti… woh khud chal kar zindagi ban jaati hai.
