Chapter 51
Where His Past Lived
After he left, slowly walked around the London penthouse.
It was different from the mansion in India.
That house carried history, wounds, silence, and distance.
But this place… was vibrant. The walls had color. The glass windows opened to a skyline that looked alive. The furniture was modern, bold — like a younger version of before pain hardened him.
She could almost imagine him here eight years ago.
Ambitious.
Focused.
Alone.
This city must have seen his struggles, his growth, his heartbreak. These walls must have witnessed sleepless nights, victories, silent tears he never showed anyone.
She ran her fingers gently along the edge of the dining table and smiled softly.
Now… they were here.
Not to live in the past.
But to rewrite the story.
By afternoon, she cooked a simple lunch and fed Inayat. The child laughed freely, excited about being in a new country. After eating, they both stepped into the small lawn area attached to the penthouse.
Inayat played around happily, running in circles, calling “Mumma, see this!”
Poornima sat on the bench, one hand resting protectively on her seven-month belly.
A quiet happiness filled her.
Veeresh was opening up.
Slowly. Carefully. But genuinely.
Calling her Kincsem.
Holding her hand.
Leaning on her shoulder in the flight.
Sharing his city.
She smiled to herself.
This was not dramatic love.
This was growing love.
And it felt real.
As she watched Inayat play under the London sky, she whispered softly, “We are building something beautiful.”
Not perfect.
But beautiful.
One line:
Kabhi kabhi nayi jagah par jaakar… dil purani kahaniyon ko nayi shuruaat deta hai.
