Chapter 42 – Tease Attack

The Devraj mansion was buzzing with excitement the next morning, though only a few knew the big news. Ravi and Gayathri sat in the living room, holding cups of tea, hearts still fluttering from last night’s revelation. Gayathri’s hand subconsciously rested on her belly, a soft smile playing on her lips.

Poornima, of course, had already caught wind. She appeared suddenly, leaning against the doorframe, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. “So… someone got themselves knocked in one go, huh?” she teased, voice dripping with amusement.

Gayathri’s cheeks turned a deep shade of pink, and she shot her sister a glare. “Poornima! Stop it!”

Ravi, sitting beside her, chuckled quietly, but his eyes sparkled with pride and mischief. “You heard it, Gayu? I guess I’m officially unstoppable,” he said, pressing a playful kiss to her temple.

Poornima laughed, moving closer. “Ravi, my dear brother-in-law, you better start preparing. You have a long way to go! And Gayathri… did you really think you could hide it from me?”

Gayathri groaned, burying her face in her hands, while Ravi wrapped an arm around her, protective but amused. “Poornima…” he warned jokingly.

“Oh, come on, Ravi! You think I’d let you two sneak around me? Not possible! I’m the family’s gossip queen!” Poornima declared dramatically, pointing at herself, then at Gayathri. “You thought I wouldn’t notice those little changes? That secret smile? The sudden craving for chocolate?”

Gayathri couldn’t help but laugh through her embarrassment, the warmth of the moment dissolving any awkwardness. “You’re impossible!” she said, shaking her head, but there was laughter in her voice.

Ravi leaned closer, whispering into her ear, “See? Told you, Gayu… even the teasing can’t touch us.”

“Ravi, be quiet! She’s going to make me squeal!” Gayathri whispered back, clutching his arm as Poornima continued her relentless, good-natured teasing.

“Don’t worry, Gayathri,” Poornima said, feigning seriousness. “I’ll make sure Rivan and Inayat never miss out on teasing this little one too!”

Ravi laughed, pulling Gayathri closer. “Looks like our baby’s life is already full of love… and a lot of fun.”

Gayathri rested her head on his shoulder, still blushing but smiling, feeling safe, loved, and even a little amused at Poornima’s relentless energy.

In that moment, the mansion felt alive again—laughter echoing in the halls, hearts brimming with joy, and a tiny secret that would soon bring even more love into their world.
