The mansion was quiet in the late evening, the soft glow of lamps reflecting off the polished floors. Gayathri sat on the balcony, Rivan and Inayat playing nearby, Mannat and Shoura sleeping peacefully in their cribs. Ravi came and leaned against the railing beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
He looked at her with that familiar intensity, eyes soft yet full of emotion. “Gayu…” he began, voice low, almost hesitant. “If you got a chance… if life gave you another chance, would you… choose me again?”
Gayathri turned to him, her eyes glistening, a gentle smile playing on her lips. “Forever, Ravi,” she said softly but firmly. “Every single time… I’d choose you. Always.”
Ravi’s lips curved into a slow, heartfelt smile. He cupped her face gently in his hands, his thumb brushing along her cheek. “You don’t know how much that means to me,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
“I do,” she replied, her hand covering his, squeezing it gently. “Because I know we’ve been through everything, and still… here we are. Together.”
Ravi leaned closer, their foreheads touching, the warmth of his breath mingling with hers. “I promise you, Gayu… nothing will ever come between us. Not the past, not anyone. You… and our kids… are my world.”
Tears pricked at her eyes, but this time, they were tears of pure joy. “And you’re my world, Ravi. All of you,” she said, gesturing softly to the sleeping babies and the playing older children. “Rivan, Inayat, Mannat, Shoura… and you. We are our world together.”
Ravi kissed her then, slow, deep, and filled with every ounce of love and gratitude he had for her. Gayathri kissed him back, holding him tight, letting the world fade away.
“I love you,” he murmured against her lips, and she whispered back, “I love you too… forever.”
They stayed like that, wrapped in each other’s arms, watching their children play and sleep, feeling the quiet, unshakable bond that life had forged between them. Every heartbeat, every sigh, every shared glance spoke of a love that had survived storms, healed wounds, and grown stronger with time.
And in that moment, with the mansion peaceful and their family whole, they knew—this was forever.
No matter what came next, they had each other, their children, and a love that would never falter.
It was their world. Their forever.
