Chapter 34: His Way of Making Space for Her

She walked into the room with the tea.

He looked up once… and that was enough.

“Sit,” he said.

She didn’t question.

She walked closer and sat on his lap, settling naturally, like it was already her place.

He took the cup and started drinking, his arm resting around her, holding her in place.

She watched him quietly.

He placed the cup aside and leaned in, kissing her—slow, familiar, like it was part of their rhythm now.

“Let’s hang out,” he said.

She blinked, surprised.

“Veer… you want to hang out?” she asked softly.

He looked at her.

“Yes.”

A small pause.

“I know I don’t like it,” he added, his tone calm, honest. “But it’s okay… if it makes you happy.”

Her eyes softened instantly.

“I’ll accompany you.”

Something in her lit up.

“Thanks, Veer,” she said, her smile real, warm, untouched by doubt.

He watched her for a second.

That smile…

It mattered.

Then his gaze shifted slightly, turning more intense.

“You’ll wear that black gown,” he said.

She frowned lightly. “Veer… that dress?”

“Strapless. Deep neck. High slit,” he said clearly.

Her breath caught slightly.

He leaned closer.

“You look bold in it,” he said, his voice low. “And I want my woman to be bold.”

A pause.

“Mine.”

Her cheeks warmed.

There was no hesitation left in her.

“I will,” she said softly.

A faint smirk appeared on his lips.

He leaned in again and kissed her.

Slow.

Certain.

Like every decision between them—

Was already made.
