Chapter 19
The city was silent when Veeresh reached his penthouse.
He stepped inside, the door closing behind him with a soft click. The space was exactly as he had left it—orderly, controlled, untouched.
Unlike him.
He walked straight to the glass window, loosening his watch, his mind not on the city below but somewhere else entirely.
With her.
Her words.
Her voice.
I am broken into pieces.
I don’t think I can ever join those pieces again.
His jaw tightened slightly.
For a long moment, he said nothing.
Then, quietly—
“No.”
The word was firm.
Certain.
As if rejecting something outright.
He ran a hand through his hair, exhaling slowly, his reflection staring back at him.
“No leaving you, eletem,” he said, his voice low but unwavering.
His gaze hardened, not in anger—but in decision.
“You’re mine.”
Not possession born out of ego.
But something deeper.
Something he had already accepted within himself.
“And I will win you.”
A pause.
“I don’t mind how broken you are.”
His tone softened just a fraction.
“Because I will put you back together.”
Not perfectly.
Not easily.
But completely.
The city lights flickered below, but his focus didn’t shift.
“You’re mine,” he repeated, quieter now.
Then, almost under his breath—
“Mera mohabbat hai tu.”
The words settled into the silence.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
But absolute.
And for Veeresh Raj—
Once something became absolute—
There was no turning back.
