Chapter 31: Everything He Dreamed, Everything She Became

The results day came quietly, but the tension in the air was anything but calm.

Veeresh sat with his laptop open, his fingers still, his eyes fixed on the screen.

Poornima stood behind him, one hand resting on his shoulder, the other unconsciously over her stomach.

“Check,” she said softly.

He exhaled once… and clicked.

A second passed.

Then another.

And then—

His eyes froze.

Poornima leaned slightly. “Veer…?”

He turned slowly, disbelief and happiness mixing in his expression.

“I cleared.”

For a moment, she just stared at him.

Then her face lit up.

“Veer!”

She hugged him instantly, holding him tight.

He smiled into her shoulder, his arms wrapping around her just as firmly.

“I told you,” she whispered.

He pulled back slightly, looking at her.

“You did,” he said softly.

Without thinking, he kissed her cheeks, quick, repeated, unable to hide his happiness.

“My Noor…”

Time didn’t slow after that.

It moved forward.

Veeresh started his training, stepping into the world he had worked so hard for.

But one thing didn’t change.

He didn’t want to leave her.

“Come with me,” he said simply.

She didn’t question it.

They shifted together, staying in a house where his work and her presence existed side by side.

Even with everything increasing around him…

His focus on her didn’t decrease.

Not even a little.

He still made sure she ate.

Still held her close at night.

Still called her—

“Noor.”

Months passed.

And one day…

Life changed again.

The hospital room was filled with soft urgency, nurses moving, voices low but active, and Veeresh standing there, not leaving her side even for a second.

“Noor… I’m here,” he said, his hand holding hers tightly.

She gripped him back.

Time stretched.

Moments blurred.

And then—

A cry.

Then another.

Veeresh’s breath stopped for a second.

“Twins,” the doctor said with a smile. “A girl and a boy.”

He looked at them.

Then at her.

Then back at them.

A soft, disbelieving laugh escaped him.

“My Noor…”

He moved closer, his hand gently touching her face.

“Thank you… for everything,” he said, his voice softer than ever before.

She looked at him, tired… but smiling.

And in that moment—

Everything felt complete.
