Chapter 15 — Obsession Begins
The penthouse remained silent long after Poornima left.
Veeresh stood near the balcony, his jaw tight, cigarette burning slowly between his fingers as his mind replayed everything from last night.
Her tears.
Her trembling voice.
The way she said Salvatore like it wasn’t a dangerous name.
And the sleeping pills.
That bothered him the most.
Veeresh crushed the cigarette into the ashtray before pulling out his phone.
The call connected immediately.
“Yes, boss,” a voice answered respectfully.
“Samuel.”
“Yes.”
Veeresh’s expression turned cold again, slipping back into the ruthless businessman everyone feared.
“I want every detail about Poornima Rathore.”
There was a brief pause on the other side. Samuel knew his boss never repeated himself.
“Everything, sir?”
“Everything,” Veeresh said calmly. “Her family. Business dealings. Medical records. Trauma. Sleeping pills. Relationships. Security. Habits.” His eyes darkened slightly. “I want the truth, not public information.”
“Yes, boss.”
“And Samuel?”
“Yes?”
“I want it in two hours.”
The line disconnected.
Veeresh placed the phone down slowly before looking toward the empty hallway again.
He had dealt with enemies his entire life.
But Poornima Rathore was becoming something far more dangerous.
A weakness.
And Salvatore Dreewan never allowed weaknesses to exist unchecked.
