Chapter 19 — The Dreewan House
“Continue digging,” Veeresh said coldly, closing the file.
Samuel nodded immediately. “Yes, sir.”
“I’ll handle the rest myself.”
Samuel understood what that meant.
And that usually ended badly for someone.
Within an hour, Veeresh arrived at the Dreewan estate — a massive mansion built more on power than luxury. Guards straightened instantly the moment Salvatore walked inside.
The atmosphere in the house shifted immediately.
Fear always followed him home.
His father was seated in the main hall with a few family members discussing business matters when Veeresh entered. The conversation stopped instantly.
Veeresh didn’t bother greeting anyone.
Instead, his gaze moved directly toward his uncle and then his father.
“You’re getting engaged to the Rathores’ daughter?” he asked bluntly.
The room stiffened immediately.
His father sighed tiredly. “Veeresh—”
“No,” Veeresh interrupted coldly. “Answer me.”
Before his father could speak, his uncle replied sharply, “It’s a business alliance. Rakesh and Poornima’s engagement will strengthen both families.”
Veeresh’s expression remained unreadable.
His father finally spoke calmly. “Veeresh, don’t interfere. Your uncle finalized this without consulting all of us.”
That answer irritated him more.
So Poornima truly had no choice.
Veeresh looked at his uncle once before turning toward his father again.
“Dad,” he said quietly, “I need you in the study room. Private.”
The seriousness in his tone immediately caught everyone’s attention.
His father frowned slightly before standing up. “Now?”
“Yes.”
Without waiting, Veeresh walked toward the study room.
The moment the door closed behind them, the calmness disappeared from his face completely.
His father noticed immediately.
“What happened?”
Veeresh turned toward him slowly, his eyes darker than usual.
“How much do you know about Zoya’s death?” he asked.
