Chapter 50 — The Truth Finally Breaks

The phone rang late at night.

Veeresh was standing near the balcony, watching Poornima sleep peacefully inside the room. She had fallen asleep against his chest again earlier, and even now her presence still lingered in the quiet space.

He picked up the call instantly.

“Sir,” Samuel’s voice was tense. “Bring your father. The truth is out about madam.”

Veeresh’s expression changed immediately.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, sir. The juvenile records… the birthday incident… and the sealed case files. Everything is connected. I’ve pieced most of it together.”

A long silence followed.

Veeresh looked back at Poornima once.

Sleeping.

Peaceful.

Completely unaware that her entire past was about to collapse into the present.

“Send everything,” Veeresh said coldly.

“Yes, sir.”

The call ended.

Veeresh stood still for a moment, then turned toward the room.

“Poornima…”

She didn’t wake.

He watched her for a few seconds longer before gently covering her properly with the blanket.

Then he left.

Within an hour, Veeresh reached the Dreewan penthouse where his father was already waiting.

The atmosphere was heavy.

Mr. Dreewan didn’t ask questions this time.

He only said, “Samuel called me.”

Veeresh nodded once.

“Then come,” Veeresh replied. “We’re going.”

“Where?”

Veeresh’s eyes darkened slightly.

“To the truth.”

The drive was silent.

Neither of them spoke.

No business.

No family.

No masks.

Just two men heading toward something they both feared and needed.

At the destination, Samuel was already waiting with a sealed file and laptop open.

He stood up immediately.

“Sir… I found everything.”

Mr. Dreewan stepped forward first. “Speak.”

Samuel hesitated only for a second before opening the file.

“Poornima Rathore’s uncle’s death… was not as simple as a murder accusation.”

Veeresh’s jaw tightened.

“And the birthday incident… it involved Miss Zoya Dreewan.”

At the mention of his sister’s name, Veeresh’s eyes sharpened dangerously.

Samuel continued carefully.

“That night… something happened at the party. Something traumatic enough that Poornima’s mind has partially blocked it.”

Silence filled the room.

“And her uncle,” Samuel added quietly, “was not just a victim. He was involved in what happened that night.”

Mr. Dreewan’s expression changed instantly.

“Explain everything,” he ordered sharply.

Samuel took a breath.

“Because what I found… suggests Poornima didn’t simply ‘kill’ him.”

He paused.

“She was trying to survive something that went very wrong.”

The room went completely still.

Veeresh didn’t speak.

But his hand slowly tightened into a fist.

Because somewhere deep inside—

he already knew this truth was going to change everything he thought he understood about her.
