Chapter 60 — As Long as I’m Alive
Veeresh stepped out of the room slowly, his expression completely changed now.
Controlled anger.
The kind that didn’t explode immediately—but burned steadily under the surface.
Mr. Rathore was already waiting outside, leaning casually near the pillar, almost like he had expected everything to fall into place exactly as planned.
A faint smile curved on his face.
“I told you,” he said calmly. “She would come back here.”
Veeresh stopped.
Mr. Rathore continued, voice low but confident.
“You think I don’t know anything?”
A pause.
“I know everything about her movements. Everything she does. I have tabs everywhere.”
His smile deepened slightly.
“That night, one of my men followed her. He told me everything.”
Veeresh’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“And I used it.”
Silence.
Mr. Rathore’s tone darkened slightly now.
“I will make sure she forgets everything again.”
A pause.
“Everything she remembers… everything she feels…”
His expression turned colder.
“Even herself.”
That was it.
Veeresh moved.
Fast.
One step forward—and his fist collided with Mr. Rathore’s face.
The impact echoed sharply in the corridor.
Mr. Rathore staggered back, shocked, touching his bleeding lip.
Veeresh grabbed him by the collar instantly and slammed him against the wall.
“Say that again,” Veeresh said lowly.
His voice was calm.
But dangerous.
Mr. Rathore tried to recover, but Veeresh tightened his grip.
“You are her father,” Veeresh said sharply. “How dare you?”
His grip tightened further.
“She survived shock treatments.”
“She survived isolation rooms.”
“She survived being treated like she was disposable.”
Veeresh’s jaw clenched harder.
“She survived juvenile torture.”
A pause.
“And you still think you own her pain?”
Mr. Rathore struggled slightly.
Veeresh continued, voice rising now.
“You gave her trauma. You didn’t protect her—you destroyed her!”
Another punch landed.
Mr. Rathore fell partially, but Veeresh didn’t stop him from sliding down the wall.
Veeresh stood over him, breathing heavily.
Then he spoke again—final, absolute.
“As long as Salvatore is alive…”
A pause.
“I will not let anyone touch my wife.”
Silence filled the corridor.
His eyes were cold now.
Unshakable.
“And if anyone tries…” he added quietly, “they will answer to me first.”
Behind him, the mansion felt completely still.
Because everyone finally understood—
this wasn’t just a marriage anymore.
It was a war over a broken girl… and Veeresh Dreewan had just chosen his side without hesitation.
