Chapter 72: A New Beginning

A few days later, Aryan stood outside his new school wearing a fresh uniform.

This time, he looked nervous.

His small fingers held Veeresh's hand tightly while Poornima adjusted his collar for what felt like the tenth time.

"Mumma..."

Aryan looked up.

"Hmm, beta?"

"What if nobody talks to me?"

Poornima immediately knelt beside him.

Then she gently held his face.

"Not everyone in the world is unkind."

Aryan listened carefully.

"And even if something happens..."

She kissed his forehead.

"You will tell us."

Aryan nodded.

Before he could answer, Veeresh crouched beside him.

His voice was firm but full of affection.

"Listen carefully, young man."

Aryan looked at him.

"If anyone troubles you."

"Tell us."

"If anyone hurts you."

"Tell us."

"If anyone says something that makes you uncomfortable."

"Tell us."

Aryan smiled slightly.

"I will."

Veeresh placed a hand on his head.

"Good."

Poornima smiled warmly.

"We are your team, remember?"

Aryan nodded immediately.

"Our team."

"Exactly."

The little boy seemed much more confident now.

The fear that had filled him after his previous school experience was slowly disappearing.

After hugging both of them, Aryan adjusted his school bag and took a deep breath.

Then he smiled.

"Bye Mumma."

"Bye, beta."

"Bye Dad."

"Have fun."

Aryan nodded and walked toward the school building.

Halfway there, he turned around and waved.

Both Veeresh and Poornima waved back.

Then he disappeared inside.

For a few moments, they simply stood there watching.

Hoping.

Praying.

Wanting this new beginning to be kinder to their son.

Finally, they walked back toward the Bullet.

Poornima sat behind Veeresh.

As they started their journey home, she wrapped her hands lightly around his waist.

"Thakur ji."

"Hmm?"

"Diwali is coming."

A smile appeared on Veeresh's face immediately.

"Yes."

"All the kids are coming."

The moment she said that, his expression softened.

Ajay.

Rhea.

Ritesh.

Zara.

Airav.

Everyone under one roof again.

The haveli filled with laughter.

Arguments.

Festivities.

Family.

The thought itself made him happy.

Veeresh smiled.

"I am happy."

Poornima could hear the emotion in his voice.

The happiness of a father.

The happiness of a man whose family, despite all its ups and downs, always found its way back to each other.

She rested her head lightly against his shoulder.

"I know."

Veeresh started the Bullet.

The road stretched ahead of them.

Behind them, Aryan was taking his first steps into a new chapter.

And ahead of them, Diwali awaited.

A house full of children.

Lights glowing in every corner of the haveli.

Laughter echoing through the halls.

And a family that had weathered every storm together.

As the Bullet moved forward, both Veeresh and Poornima carried the same feeling in their hearts.

Gratitude.

For second chances.

For healing.

And for the joy of knowing that soon, their entire family would be together again under one roof.
