Chapter 26 – The Reunion

A week later, excitement filled the Rajawat house once again.

A car stopped outside the mansion.

Veeresh stood at the entrance with Poornima, Aradhya, Rudra, and the rest of the family.

The car door opened.

A young man and a young woman stepped out.

Adwait and Thoshini.

The moment they saw Poornima, their faces lit up.

Without a second thought, both of them ran towards her.

Adwait & Thoshini: "Mumma!"

Poornima's eyes filled with tears.

She opened her arms wide.

They embraced each other tightly.

Poornima held them as though she were making up for every year they had lost.

Adwait: "We missed you so much, Mumma."

Thoshini: "Dad always said one day we'd meet you."

Poornima kissed both their foreheads.

Her voice trembled.

Poornima: "I missed you too."

She smiled through her tears.

Poornima: "More than you'll ever know."

Adwait and Thoshini held her hands, smiling happily.

The entire family watched the reunion with moist eyes.

Veeresh stood quietly.

A peaceful smile spread across his face.

He had imagined this moment countless times over the years.

Seeing it finally happen made his heart feel lighter.

A little later, while everyone was busy welcoming Adwait and Thoshini inside, Veeresh gently took Poornima aside into the garden.

He looked at her with a smile.

Veeresh: "I knew you would embrace them one day."

Poornima looked at him, her eyes still wet.

She gently shook her head.

Poornima: "Veer... I would have done that fifteen years ago if the truth had come out."

Her voice broke.

Poornima: "I'm sorry."

Veeresh immediately held her hands.

He looked into her eyes.

Veeresh: "No, Poons."

He softly shook his head.

Veeresh: "Don't apologize."

His voice was calm.

Veeresh: "You loved them without even meeting them."

He smiled gently.

Veeresh: "The mistake wasn't yours."

He wiped away a tear from her cheek.

Veeresh: "We both lost fifteen years because of a lie."

He rested his forehead against hers.

Veeresh: "Let's not waste another day blaming ourselves."

Poornima smiled through her tears.

She nodded.

For the first time, the family felt complete.

Not because the past had been erased—but because the people who belonged together had finally found their way back to one another.
