Chapter 49 – A Family's Blessing

For a few moments after Veeresh's announcement, the hall was completely silent.

Everyone looked at Veeresh.

Then at Poornima.

Poornima instinctively held Veeresh's hand a little tighter.

She lowered her eyes, nervous about what everyone would think.

Veeresh noticed.

He gently intertwined his fingers with hers, silently assuring her that he was there.

The first person to react was...

Aradhya.

She stared at her parents for a few seconds.

Then a huge smile spread across her face.

Without thinking twice, she walked straight to them.

Aradhya: "Really?"

Poornima nodded shyly.

Before she could say anything, Aradhya hugged her tightly.

Aradhya: "Mom..."

Her eyes became moist.

Aradhya: "This is the best gift."

She laughed through her tears.

Aradhya: "Looks like I'll become a sister all over again."

The entire hall smiled.

Richard came forward.

He respectfully hugged Veeresh.

Richard: "Congratulations, Dad."

Then he looked at Poornima.

Richard: "Congratulations, Mom."

Poornima smiled with relief.

Next came Rudra.

He dramatically placed both hands on his head.

Rudra: "Dad..."

He shook his head.

Rudra: "You actually meant it when you kept talking about babies!"

The hall burst into laughter.

Veeresh folded his arms proudly.

Veeresh: "I always mean what I say."

Rudra walked over and hugged both his parents.

Rudra: "Congratulations."

Then he laughed.

Rudra: "I can't believe I'm going to have another sibling."

Adwait grinned.

Adwait: "I already told everyone I had no problem."

Thoshini nodded excitedly.

Thoshini: "I'm so happy!"

She hugged Poornima carefully.

Thoshini: "Congratulations, Mumma."

Then she hugged Veeresh.

Thoshini: "Congratulations, Dad."

Ritika's eyes filled with tears.

She walked slowly towards them.

She gently cupped Poornima's face.

Ritika: "God has blessed our family again."

She kissed Poornima's forehead lovingly.

Then she hugged her son.

Ritika: "Take good care of her."

Veeresh: "Always, Mom."

Rajendra smiled proudly.

He placed his hand on Veeresh's shoulder.

Rajendra: "Children are always a blessing."

He looked at Poornima warmly.

Rajendra: "Congratulations, beta."

Richard's parents looked at each other.

Then Richard's father smiled.

He walked forward.

Richard's Father: "Life has its own beautiful surprises."

He folded his hands respectfully.

Richard's Father: "Congratulations to both of you."

Richard's mother hugged Poornima gently.

Richard's Mother: "Please don't worry about what anyone says."

She smiled kindly.

Richard's Mother: "Today we celebrate every blessing God has given this family."

Poornima's eyes immediately filled with tears.

She hadn't expected such acceptance.

Veeresh looked at her and smiled as if to say, I told you.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

Veeresh: "See?"

He whispered softly.

Veeresh: "You were worried for nothing."

Poornima looked at him with watery eyes.

She smiled.

Poornima: "You were right."

Veeresh chuckled.

Veeresh: "As always."

She lightly pinched his arm.

Poornima: "Don't get used to hearing that."

Everyone around them laughed.

The reception hall, which had moments earlier been silent, was now filled with applause, laughter, hugs, and blessings.

The fear Poornima had carried in her heart disappeared, replaced by the love and acceptance of the people who mattered most. Their family celebrated not just Aradhya and Richard's new beginning, but also the unexpected new life that had quietly become part of their own.
