Chapter 56 – The Biggest Surprise

Nine months passed with regular check-ups, love, and endless care from the family.

Finally, the day arrived.

Late at night, Poornima felt strong contractions.

She held Veeresh's hand tightly.

Poornima: "Veer... I think it's time."

Veeresh was on his feet in seconds.

He calmly called the doctor, informed the family, and rushed her to the hospital.

After examining Poornima, the doctor smiled reassuringly.

Doctor: "Everything is progressing well."

Doctor: "We'll take good care of both mother and babies."

Veeresh kissed Poornima's forehead.

Veeresh: "I'll be right here."

She smiled nervously.

Poornima: "Don't leave."

Veeresh: "Never."

She was taken into the delivery room.

Outside, the family waited anxiously.

Ritika silently prayed.

Rajendra walked back and forth.

Rudra, Aradhya, Richard, Adwait, and Thoshini sat together, hoping everything would go well.

After some time...

The first baby's cry echoed through the hospital corridor.

Everyone stood up.

A few moments later...

Another cry.

Rudra smiled.

Rudra: "Second one."

Then...

A third cry.

Aradhya's eyes filled with tears.

Aradhya: "Triplets..."

Before anyone could say another word...

A fourth tiny cry echoed from inside.

Everyone froze.

They looked at one another in complete confusion.

Richard: "Wait..."

Adwait: "Four?"

Even Veeresh stared at the delivery room doors in disbelief.

A few minutes later, the doctor walked out, still smiling beneath the surgical cap.

Veeresh rushed forward.

Veeresh: "Doctor... Poornima?"

The doctor smiled.

Doctor: "Mother is doing well."

Everyone sighed in relief.

Then the doctor looked at Veeresh with an amused expression.

Doctor: "Congratulations, Mr. Rajawat."

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "Triplets are fine?"

The doctor laughed.

Doctor: "About that..."

Everyone looked confused.

The doctor folded their arms.

Doctor: "Your wife has given birth to..."

The doctor paused dramatically.

Doctor: "...four healthy babies."

The entire family stared in shock.

Veeresh: "Four?"

The doctor nodded, laughing.

Doctor: "Two healthy boys..."

"...and two beautiful girls."

Veeresh blinked several times.

He looked as though he had forgotten how to speak.

The doctor chuckled.

Doctor: "I'm surprised too."

The doctor laughed warmly.

Doctor: "On the scans, we only saw three babies."

Everyone listened with amazement.

Doctor: "Looks like the fourth little one was hiding behind the others during the earlier scans."

The family burst into laughter.

The doctor looked at Veeresh with a teasing smile.

Doctor: "Mr. Rajawat..."

Veeresh looked up.

Doctor: "First you surprised us with triplets."

The doctor laughed.

Doctor: "Now you've upgraded yourself."

The family laughed harder.

The doctor continued playfully,

Doctor: "I think your babies enjoy surprising everyone."

Rajendra patted Veeresh's shoulder.

Rajendra: "Son..."

He smiled.

Rajendra: "Forget a football team."

The room erupted in laughter.

Rudra: "Dad!"

He shook his head dramatically.

Rudra: "Seven children became eight!"

Adwait laughed.

Adwait: "Papa keeps breaking records."

Aradhya smiled through happy tears.

Aradhya: "Mom is going to need all of us now."

The doctor smiled at the family.

Doctor: "You may see them one by one."

Veeresh entered the room quietly.

Poornima looked exhausted but peaceful.

She smiled weakly as she saw him.

He sat beside her and gently held her hand.

Veeresh: "Poons..."

She smiled.

Poornima: "Four..."

He laughed softly, his eyes shining with tears.

Veeresh: "Looks like one of our little miracles wanted to make a surprise entrance."

He kissed her forehead.

Veeresh: "Thank you."

He looked at the four newborns sleeping peacefully beside their mother.

His voice trembled with emotion.

Veeresh: "Our family just became even bigger."

Poornima smiled, watching all four babies sleeping side by side.

The room was filled with quiet joy, tiny heartbeats, and the overwhelming happiness of welcoming four new lives into their family.
