Epilogue

Epilogue – Home

Twenty-five years.

That was how long Veeresh and Poornima's journey had lasted.

A journey filled with misunderstandings, separation, heartbreak, reunion, laughter, forgiveness, and a love that refused to fade.

Their home was no longer quiet.

It was filled with memories.

Photographs covered the walls.

One frame showed a young Veeresh and Poornima on their wedding day.

Another captured Aradhya's wedding.

One showed the four newborns sleeping side by side.

Others held birthdays, festivals, family vacations, and countless candid moments.

Every photograph told a story.

One evening, the entire Rajawat family gathered at the ancestral house.

Aradhya and Richard had arrived with their children.

Rudra had his own family.

Adwait and Thoshini were successful in their careers but never missed a family gathering.

Aarav, Advik, Anika, and Aadhya were now young adults, filling the house with the same laughter that once belonged to their older siblings.

The house was noisy.

Exactly the way Veeresh loved it.

Veeresh sat in the garden with a cup of tea.

His hair had turned silver.

Beside him sat Poornima, also with silver strands in her neatly tied hair.

She leaned her head on his shoulder.

They watched their children and grandchildren running across the lawn.

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "Remember..."

He chuckled.

Veeresh: "You called me an asshole almost every day."

Poornima laughed.

Poornima: "Because you deserved it."

He smiled.

Veeresh: "Probably."

They both laughed.

After a few moments, Veeresh quietly took her hand.

Even after all these years...

He still held it the same way.

Warmly.

Protectively.

Lovingly.

Veeresh: "Thank you, Poons."

She looked at him.

Poornima: "For what?"

He looked towards their family.

Children.

Grandchildren.

Laughter.

Love.

A lifetime.

Veeresh: "For never giving up on us."

Her eyes became moist.

She smiled.

Poornima: "Home was never a place, Veer."

She gently squeezed his hand.

Poornima: "It was always you."

Veeresh's eyes filled with tears.

He kissed her forehead.

Just then, their grandchildren came running.

"Dadu!"

"Dadi!"

The two of them laughed as little hands pulled them towards another family photograph.

The photographer smiled.

Photographer: "Everyone together!"

The entire Rajawat family gathered.

Children stood in front.

Grandchildren sat on the grass.

The elders stood proudly behind.

Veeresh wrapped an arm around Poornima.

She leaned into him.

Just before the camera clicked, Veeresh whispered,

Veeresh: "Still my Poons."

Without looking at him, she smiled.

Poornima: "Always your Poons."

Click.

The photograph captured not just a family...

...but a lifetime of love, second chances, forgiveness, and togetherness.

The End. ❤️
