Chapter 66: The Best Eid Gift

The next morning, the Rathore Palace was filled with excitement as everyone packed for Bikaner.

Yash and Aarav were in their room folding a few clothes.

Aarav suddenly broke the silence.

Aarav: "Bhaiya..."

Yash looked up.

Yash: "Hmm?"

Aarav smiled.

Aarav: "I like Mrs. Rathore."

Yash smiled slightly.

Yash: "Me too."

Aarav sat beside him.

Aarav: "I feel... nice when she's around."

Yash nodded.

Yash: "She never tries to replace Mom."

Yash: "She just cares for us."

Aarav smiled.

Aarav: "Aadhya loves her."

He laughed.

Aarav: "She even calls her 'Mumma.'"

Yash looked thoughtful.

Yash: "I noticed."

Aarav looked at his brother.

Aarav: "You know..."

He smiled.

Aarav: "We should call her that too."

Yash didn't answer immediately.

Instead, he looked out of the window.

After a few moments, he smiled.

Yash: "I want to."

Aarav grinned.

Aarav: "Dad has changed too."

Yash nodded.

Yash: "He's realizing his mistakes."

Aarav smiled.

Aarav: "And he's spending time with us now."

Yash looked towards the door.

Yash: "Maybe..."

He smiled softly.

Yash: "...our family is finally becoming a family."

Just then...

Knock... Knock...

Poornima: "May I come in?"

Yash: "Come in."

Poornima entered carrying two beautifully wrapped packets.

She smiled warmly.

Poornima: "It's Eid."

She handed one packet to Yash and another to Aarav.

Poornima: "These are for both of you."

Aarav immediately opened his packet.

His eyes widened.

Aarav: "A white kurta-pyjama!"

He smiled brightly.

Aarav: "I wanted a white one."

He hugged the clothes happily.

Yash also opened his packet.

Inside was an elegant kurta-pyjama in his favourite style.

He looked at Poornima.

Yash: "Thank you."

She smiled.

Poornima: "I hope you both like them."

There was a brief silence.

Then Yash stood up.

He looked at Aarav.

Aarav nodded.

Yash turned towards Poornima.

His voice was soft.

Yash: "Can I ask you something?"

Poornima: "Of course, beta."

Yash hesitated.

Then he asked,

Yash: "Will you be happy..."

He smiled shyly.

Yash: "...if we call you 'Mumma' like Aadhya does?"

Poornima's eyes immediately became moist.

She looked at both boys.

A smile spread across her face.

Poornima: "I've been waiting for that day."

For a moment, neither brother spoke.

Then, together...

They smiled.

Yash: "Mumma."

Aarav: "Mumma."

Poornima couldn't hold back her emotions.

She walked straight to them and wrapped both boys in a tight hug.

Tears of happiness rolled down her cheeks.

She kissed Yash's forehead.

Then Aarav's.

Her voice trembled with joy.

Poornima: "I'm so happy."

She smiled through her tears.

Poornima: "This..."

She hugged them once more.

Poornima: "...is my best Eid gift."

Yash and Aarav smiled.

For the first time since their childhood...

Calling someone "Mumma" didn't feel like replacing the past.

It felt like accepting someone who had quietly earned a place in their hearts.

Outside the room, Mahesh and Mahendra happened to witness the moment.

Mahendra smiled with moist eyes.

Mahendra: "Looks like our family has finally healed."

Mahesh nodded quietly.

And somewhere on the road to Bikaner, unaware of what had just happened, Veeresh was driving with a smile, eager to celebrate his first Eid with the family that was slowly becoming whole again.
