Chapter 83: Family by His Side

A gentle knock came at the hospital room door.

The two of them slowly moved apart.

Poornima wiped her tears, while Veeresh composed himself and leaned back against the pillow.

The doctor entered with a warm smile.

Doctor: "Good to see you awake, Mr. Rathore."

Veeresh gave a faint smile.

Veeresh: "Thank you, Doctor."

The doctor checked his pulse, blood pressure, and the monitors before looking at him seriously.

Doctor: "Your condition is stable now."

He closed the chart.

Doctor: "The collapse was caused by a combination of severe migraine, exhaustion, dehydration, and stress."

Veeresh nodded quietly.

The doctor continued,

Doctor: "The tests we have done so far are reassuring. However, this is a warning from your body."

He looked directly at Veeresh.

Doctor: "You cannot ignore your migraine or your health anymore."

Doctor: "Take your medicines on time."

Doctor: "Stay hydrated."

Doctor: "Get adequate sleep."

Doctor: "And no long-distance driving alone when you're unwell."

Veeresh glanced at Poornima before answering.

Veeresh: "I understand."

The doctor smiled.

Doctor: "We'll keep you under observation today. If everything remains normal, you should be able to go home tomorrow."

Poornima finally breathed a little easier.

Poornima: "Thank you, Doctor."

The doctor nodded.

Doctor: "You can have visitors now, but not too many at once. He still needs plenty of rest."

After the doctor left, Poornima opened the door.

Everyone who had been anxiously waiting outside immediately stood up.

Mahendra walked in first.

The moment he saw Veeresh sitting up, his eyes filled with relief.

He placed a hand on his grandson's head.

Mahendra: "You frightened us, beta."

Veeresh lowered his head.

Veeresh: "I'm sorry, Dadu."

Mahendra gently hugged him.

Mahendra: "Just don't do it again."

Mahesh came next.

He looked at his son for a long moment before pulling him into a careful hug.

Mahesh: "Take care of yourself."

His voice cracked.

Mahesh: "You don't have to carry every responsibility alone."

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "I know, Papa."

Haji Kareem stepped forward.

He held Veeresh's hand warmly.

Haji Kareem: "Allah has given you another chance."

He smiled kindly.

Haji Kareem: "Now take care of yourself."

Veeresh respectfully nodded.

Veeresh: "I will, Abbu."

Shabana blessed him by gently placing her hand on his head.

Shabana: "May God always protect you."

Then the children entered.

Aadhya ran first.

She carefully hugged her father, avoiding the IV line.

Aadhya: "Papa..."

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Aadhya: "Don't scare me like that."

Veeresh kissed her forehead.

Veeresh: "I won't."

Yash came closer.

His usually calm face showed worry.

Yash: "You promised we'd spend more time together."

Veeresh smiled sadly.

Veeresh: "And I will."

Aarav hugged him next.

Aarav: "You're not allowed to get sick again."

That made everyone smile.

Veeresh laughed softly.

Veeresh: "I'll try my best."

Ayat and Aarhan slowly walked to the bedside.

Aarhan gently held Veeresh's hand.

Aarhan: "Abbu..."

His voice was barely a whisper.

Aarhan: "Please don't leave us."

Veeresh's eyes became moist.

He kissed Aarhan's forehead and then Ayat's.

Veeresh: "I'm not going anywhere."

Ayat smiled through her tears.

Ayat: "Promise?"

Veeresh looked around the room.

His family...

All standing together.

All worried about him.

He smiled gently.

Veeresh: "Promise."

Standing quietly beside him, Poornima watched the scene with tears of relief in her eyes.

The room that had been filled with fear only hours ago was now filled with love, hope, and the comforting presence of family.
