Epilogue: Home

Three years later...

The Rathore Palace, once filled with silence and unspoken pain, had become a home overflowing with laughter.

During the auspicious days of Navaratri, Poornima gave birth to twin baby girls.

When the nurse placed the babies in Veeresh's arms, tears filled his eyes.

He looked at Poornima with a smile.

Veeresh: "Thank you, Poons."

He gently kissed her forehead before looking at the babies.

The family waited excitedly for the names.

Veeresh smiled.

Holding the first baby, he said,

Veeresh: "Her name will be Thoshini."

Then he lovingly looked at the second little girl.

Veeresh: "And my little princess will be Jyoshtana."

The family happily welcomed the newest members of the Rathore family.

Time passed.

Yash became the most protective eldest brother.

Whenever someone came to see the babies, he would proudly say,

Yash: "Careful... they're my sisters."

He loved carrying them around the palace gardens and never let anyone disturb their sleep.

Aarav had a special talent.

Whenever Thoshini or Jyoshtana cried, he would gently rock them in his arms, humming soft tunes until they peacefully fell asleep.

Everyone laughed.

Mahendra: "Looks like Aarav has become the babies' favourite."

Aarav proudly smiled.

Aarav: "Obviously."

Aadhya became their playmate.

She dressed them in tiny matching frocks, made funny faces to make them laugh, and clicked hundreds of photographs.

Ayat read storybooks to them every evening.

She loved making them smile with silly voices.

Aarhan quietly sat beside them, showing them his toys and talking to them as though they understood every word.

The twins smiled every time they saw all five of their elder siblings.

Many outsiders had doubted Poornima.

Some had whispered,

"She'll only love her own children now."

They couldn't have been more wrong.

Poornima never divided her love.

To her...

Yash,

Aarav,

Aadhya,

Ayat,

Aarhan,

Thoshini,

and Jyoshtana...

Were all simply her children.

There was never a difference.

One evening...

Yash entered the kitchen while Poornima was preparing tea.

Yash: "Mumma..."

She smiled.

Poornima: "Yes, beta?"

He scratched the back of his head.

Yash: "I think... I have a crush."

Poornima smiled without teasing him.

She simply listened.

Yash spoke about his dreams, his fears, college life, and everything that was in his heart.

She never judged him.

She only guided him with patience.

Yash often said,

Yash: "I can tell Mumma anything."

Aarav was no different.

One day he came home after losing an important match.

He quietly sat beside Poornima.

Without asking many questions, she simply placed a cup of tea beside him.

After a long silence, Aarav finally spoke.

He shared his disappointment, his worries, and his fear of letting everyone down.

Poornima listened carefully.

She reminded him that one defeat never defined a person.

Aarav smiled again.

Aadhya loved spending nights talking to her Mumma.

They discussed school, friends, future dreams, clothes, books, and everything in between.

Whenever she felt confused, she knew exactly where to go.

To her Mumma.

Ayat continued sharing every little excitement.

Whether she scored full marks, learned a new recipe, or wanted advice about a friend, she always ran first to Poornima.

Aarhan remained quieter than everyone else.

But with Poornima, words came easily.

He spoke about his worries, his anxiety before exams, the fear of being judged, and even the memories that still hurt him from childhood.

Poornima never interrupted.

She simply listened.

Sometimes...

Being heard was the greatest comfort.

Late one night...

The children were asleep.

The twins were resting peacefully in their cribs.

The palace was silent.

Veeresh stood on the balcony looking at the stars.

Poornima walked over and stood beside him.

He gently held her hand.

For a long moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Veeresh broke the silence.

Veeresh: "Poons..."

She looked at him.

Poornima: "Hmm?"

He smiled softly.

Veeresh: "Thank you."

She smiled.

Poornima: "For what?"

He looked towards the rooms where their children slept peacefully.

Veeresh: "For healing a family that I thought would never heal."

He turned towards her.

His eyes reflected nothing but gratitude.

Veeresh: "Thank you for loving Yash, Aarav, and Aadhya as your own."

Veeresh: "Thank you for giving Ayat and Aarhan a father."

Veeresh: "Thank you for bringing Thoshini and Jyoshtana into our lives."

He gently kissed her forehead.

Veeresh: "You once told me that I accepted you."

He smiled.

Veeresh: "But the truth is..."

He placed his hand over hers.

Veeresh: "You accepted all of us."

His voice became emotional.

Veeresh: "You're my peace."

He smiled through moist eyes.

Veeresh: "You're my home."

Poornima's eyes filled with tears.

She rested her head on his shoulder.

Poornima: "Home isn't a place, Veer."

She intertwined her fingers with his.

Poornima: "Home is where the people you love are."

She looked back at the rooms where all seven children slept.

Then she looked at him.

Poornima: "You... and our children..."

She smiled with complete contentment.

Poornima: "...are my home too."

Veeresh wrapped his arm around her.

Together, they stood beneath the moonlit sky.

Not as two people brought together by circumstances.

But as two souls who had chosen each other every single day.

And in choosing each other...

They had built something far more precious than a palace.

They had built a family.

The End.
