Chapter 12: Two Stubborn Hearts

Devraj smiled with satisfaction.

He gently patted Veeresh's shoulder.

Devraj: "Good."

"Next week is your wedding."

"Now stop overthinking everything."

"Go to sleep."

Veeresh let out a long sigh.

Veeresh: "You really don't leave any room for negotiation, do you?"

Devraj: "No."

Veeresh shook his head with a helpless smile.

Veeresh: "Good night, Dad."

Devraj: "Good night, Veer."

Veeresh walked out of the study.

As soon as the door closed, Devraj picked up his phone.

He opened his chat with Raghav.

Devraj (text): Mission accomplished.

Veeresh has agreed.

Within seconds...

The phone buzzed.

Raghav (text): You actually convinced him?

Devraj (text): Told you to trust me.

Raghav smiled as he read the message.

At the Rathore Mansion...

Poornima had just returned home.

She entered her room and saw her twins sleeping peacefully.

Savithri was gently folding their tiny clothes.

Savithri: "They're finally asleep."

Poornima kissed both babies on their foreheads.

Poornima: "Thank you, Masi."

Savithri smiled and quietly left the room.

A few minutes later...

There was a knock.

Raghav: "Poons?"

Poornima looked up.

Poornima: "Come in, Appa."

Raghav entered and sat beside her.

For a few moments, he simply watched his daughter looking at her children.

Then he cleared his throat.

Raghav: "Can we talk?"

Poornima already knew the topic.

She folded her arms.

Poornima: "Appa..."

"Why that rakshas?"

Raghav couldn't stop himself from laughing.

Raghav: "Rakshas?"

Poornima: "Yes!"

"That arrogant businessman."

"He's impossible."

"Ever since school he's done nothing except argue with me."

"If I answered one question..."

"He'd answer two."

"If I won a competition..."

"He'd train twice as hard just to beat me next time."

"He annoyed me for years."

Raghav chuckled.

Raghav: "Funny."

Poornima: "What's funny?"

Raghav: "If I ask him about you..."

"He calls you a chudail."

Poornima's eyes widened.

Then she huffed.

Poornima: "See!"

"Exactly why I don't want to marry him."

Raghav smiled, trying not to laugh.

Raghav: "And yet..."

"Neither of you has forgotten the other after all these years."

Poornima looked away.

Poornima: "That's because he was my biggest rival."

Raghav placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

Raghav: "Or maybe..."

"He was the only person who could always match you."

Poornima didn't answer.

She simply looked at her sleeping twins, wondering how life had changed so unexpectedly in just one evening.
