Chapter 22: Sweet Beginnings

At Poornima's Oven, the kitchen was busier than usual.

Poornima tied her apron and gathered her team.

Poornima: "Everyone, we have a large corporate order for VDS Industries."

"The delivery has to be perfect."

The staff nodded enthusiastically.

Fresh batches of cupcakes came out of the ovens one after another.

The bakery was filled with the aroma of vanilla, chocolate, and freshly baked brownies.

Poornima personally checked every tray.

The vanilla cupcakes were topped with smooth vanilla buttercream and colorful sprinkles.

The chocolate cupcakes were finished with rich chocolate frosting.

The brownies were cut into neat squares with a glossy chocolate finish.

She inspected each dessert carefully.

Poornima: "No damaged pieces."

"Every box should look presentable."

Her staff smiled.

Employee: "Yes, ma'am."

One by one, the desserts were packed.

Each vanilla cupcake was placed carefully into its own individual box.

Each chocolate cupcake was also packed separately.

Every brownie was wrapped neatly and placed in its own box.

The boxes were closed carefully to protect the desserts.

Finally, they were arranged inside larger cartons according to the order list.

Poornima checked every carton herself.

She sealed each one with the bakery's label.

Poornima: "Good."

"Load them into the delivery van carefully."

The delivery staff nodded.

Within minutes, the van left for VDS Industries.

After it departed, Poornima picked up her phone and sent Veeresh a message.

Poornima (text): Rakshas, everything has been packed and dispatched. It should reach your office shortly.

A few seconds later...

Veeresh (text): Thanks, Chudail.

VDS Industries

About an hour later...

A security officer knocked on Veeresh's cabin.

Security Officer: "Sir, the dessert delivery has arrived."

Veeresh nodded.

He pressed the intercom.

Veeresh: "Ritika."

Within moments, Ritika entered.

Ritika: "Yes, sir?"

Veeresh: "The parcels have arrived."

"Please check them."

Ritika: "Certainly, sir."

She went downstairs to the reception.

Several large cartons bearing Poornima's Oven logo had been delivered.

She opened one carton.

Inside were perfectly arranged individual dessert boxes.

Everything was packed neatly and professionally.

Not a single box was damaged.

Ritika smiled.

Ritika: "Excellent packing."

She instructed the office staff.

Ritika: "Take these cartons to the distribution room."

The cartons were carried upstairs.

Soon, every department received the dessert boxes.

Finance.

Human Resources.

Marketing.

Legal.

Operations.

Information Technology.

Administration.

Every employee received one neatly packed dessert box.

The office buzzed with excitement.

Employees opened their boxes.

The aroma of fresh baked desserts filled the building.

One employee tasted a vanilla cupcake.

Employee 1: "This is amazing!"

Another tried the chocolate cupcake.

Employee 2: "The frosting is perfect."

A third employee tasted the brownie.

Employee 3: "These brownies are so soft."

Soon, compliments echoed throughout the office.

Later that afternoon, a few employees came to Veeresh's cabin.

Employee: "Sir..."

Veeresh looked up from his laptop.

Veeresh: "Yes?"

Employee: "The desserts were awesome."

"Could we have the bakery's address?"

"We'd love to order for our family functions and birthdays too."

A small smile appeared on Veeresh's face.

He nodded.

Veeresh: "Of course."

"It's Poornima's Oven."

He paused with quiet pride before adding,

Veeresh: "The owner is my wife."

The employees smiled.

Employee: "Congratulations once again, sir."

"We'll definitely be placing more orders."

Veeresh: "She'll be happy to serve you."

As the employees left, Ritika glanced at Veeresh.

For the first time since she had worked with him, she saw something different.

When he spoke about Poornima's work, there was unmistakable respect in his voice.
