Chapter 31: Choosing Their Names
By the time Veeresh and Poornima reached the Singh Mansion, the evening sun had begun to set.
They carried the twins inside.
Devraj was waiting in the living room.
The moment he saw them, he smiled.
Devraj: "Welcome back, beta."
He noticed the tired expressions on their faces but chose not to ask any questions immediately.
Instead, he said warmly,
Devraj: "Good timing."
"Our Purohit ji has come."
Veeresh and Poornima greeted him respectfully.
Veeresh & Poornima: "Namaste, Purohit ji."
The elderly priest blessed them.
Purohit ji: "Ayushman bhava."
He looked lovingly at the twins.
After checking the birth details and horoscope, he smiled.
Purohit ji: "Both children have bright futures."
"They are blessed."
"They will bring happiness to both families."
Poornima folded her hands.
Poornima: "Thank you, Purohit ji."
Devraj smiled happily.
After speaking for a while, everyone dispersed.
Veeresh and Poornima took the twins upstairs to their room.
Upstairs
The babies had fallen asleep after the journey.
Poornima gently tucked them into their cradles.
Veeresh stood beside the window, thinking.
After a moment, he turned toward her.
Veeresh: "Chudail..."
She looked up.
Poornima: "Hmm?"
Veeresh: "I've been thinking about their names."
She smiled.
Poornima: "Tell me."
Veeresh walked over to the cradle where their daughter was sleeping peacefully.
He looked at the tiny face with affection.
Veeresh: "For our daughter..."
"I like the name Thoshini."
Poornima listened quietly.
Veeresh: "It's another name associated with Goddess Durga."
"I think it's beautiful."
Poornima looked at their daughter and smiled.
Poornima: "It is beautiful, Veer."
"I like it."
Veeresh smiled.
He then looked at the little boy sleeping beside his sister.
Veeresh: "And for our son..."
"I was thinking..."
'Rudraksha.'
Poornima's eyes lit up.
Poornima: "That's a beautiful name, Veer."
She looked from one baby to the other.
Poornima: "Thoshini..."
"And Rudraksha."
"They sound perfect together."
Veeresh nodded.
Veeresh: "We'll still wait to announce them at Mahakal, just as you wished."
"But until then..."
He smiled at the sleeping twins.
Veeresh: "That's what I'll call them."
Poornima's heart felt lighter.
She looked at him with gratitude.
Poornima: "Thank you."
Veeresh stepped closer.
Without a word, he gently kissed her on the cheek.
Poornima blinked in surprise.
Then a shy smile spread across her face.
She lightly nudged his arm.
Poornima: "Rakshas..."
Veeresh chuckled.
Veeresh: "What?"
Poornima looked at him with a smile she didn't try to hide.
Poornima: "Nothing."
For the first time since their marriage, the room felt less like two strangers sharing a space and more like a home where a husband, a wife, and two little children were slowly building a future together.
