Chapter 50: A Husband's Confidence

The evening of the Qureshi Group's 10th Anniversary Celebration arrived.

Poornima was getting ready in their room.

She adjusted the pallu of her saree and turned towards Veeresh.

He was fastening the buttons of his suit.

She smiled.

Poornima: "Veer..."

He looked at her.

Veeresh: "Yes, Chudail?"

Poornima: "Will you come with me?"

A smile spread across his face.

Veeresh: "Of course."

"I'll be there."

Poornima smiled happily.

Together, they left for the celebration.

The venue was beautifully decorated.

Business leaders, clients, and guests filled the hall.

When Veeresh and Poornima entered together, many guests turned to greet them.

Arnav, who was welcoming everyone at the entrance, looked up.

For a brief moment, surprise flashed across his face.

Arnav (thinking): I never invited him...

Yet he came... with Poornima.

He composed himself and walked forward.

Arnav: "Mr. and Mrs. Singh."

"Welcome."

Veeresh smiled politely.

Veeresh: "Thank you."

After a few moments of formal conversation, Poornima excused herself.

Poornima: "I'll just check the dessert setup with my team."

Veeresh: "Go ahead."

She walked toward the dessert counter, where her staff were arranging the final display.

Once she was out of earshot, Veeresh looked directly at Arnav.

His expression became serious.

Veeresh: "I know you deliberately didn't invite me to this celebration."

Arnav remained silent.

Veeresh continued.

Veeresh: "And I know..."

"You have eyes on my wife."

Arnav didn't deny it.

Instead, he smiled faintly.

Arnav: "What if..."

"I make her mine?"

Veeresh's eyes never left his.

Arnav continued,

Arnav: "What if I make her hate you?"

There was a brief silence.

Then Veeresh smiled.

A calm, confident smile.

Veeresh: "Try."

Arnav raised an eyebrow.

Veeresh looked across the hall.

Poornima was standing near the dessert counter, discussing the arrangements with her team members, checking every detail herself.

He smiled proudly.

Veeresh: "I know my wife."

He looked back at Arnav.

Veeresh: "She wears my name."

"The sindoor in her hair..."

"The mangalsutra around her neck..."

"They are not just ornaments to her."

"They are symbols of the relationship she respects."

He spoke with quiet certainty.

Veeresh: "She knows how to respect relationships."

"And she knows how to respect people."

He took one step closer.

Veeresh: "You can try whatever you want."

"But you cannot build a relationship by breaking someone else's."

Arnav's expression hardened.

Veeresh remained composed.

Across the hall, Poornima looked up from the dessert counter and smiled at Veeresh.

Without saying a word, he smiled back.

That single glance said more than any argument could.

It reminded Veeresh of one thing.

Trust was stronger than suspicion.

And that was the foundation of their marriage.
