Chapter 44 — Her Savings

Poornima opened the budget file again and looked at the numbers.

Then she turned toward Veeresh.

Poornima: "I have three crores in savings."

Veeresh looked at her in surprise.

Veeresh: "Three crores?"

Poornima nodded.

Poornima: "Yes. I want to use it for the restaurant."

Veeresh stared at her for a moment.

Veeresh: "How did you save that much?"

Poornima smiled slightly.

Poornima: "I've been saving for years."

She looked back at the laptop.

Poornima: "I did part-time jobs while I was studying. Whatever I earned, I saved most of it."

Veeresh listened carefully.

Poornima: "I didn't spend much unnecessarily. Whenever I got money from my part-time work, I kept it aside."

She paused.

Poornima: "And Appa also used to give me money."

Veeresh nodded.

Poornima: "Rajiv Appa always supported me. If he gave me money for something, I would save whatever was left instead of spending it."

She smiled faintly.

Poornima: "Over the years, it became a good amount."

Veeresh looked at the budget again.

Veeresh: "And you want to put your entire savings into this?"

Poornima shook her head.

Poornima: "Not every rupee."

She pointed at the budget plan.

Poornima: "I have calculated everything. I want to use what is necessary for the restaurant and keep the rest as an emergency fund."

Veeresh's expression softened.

Veeresh: "You've really planned this."

Poornima: "Of course."

She smiled proudly.

Poornima: "This isn't just some random idea, Veer. I've been dreaming about having my own restaurant for years."

Veeresh looked at her.

For the first time, he could see how serious she was about building a life of her own.

Veeresh: "Then we'll do it properly."

Poornima raised an eyebrow.

Poornima: "We?"

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "Your restaurant. Your dream. But I'm your husband. Let me help you where I can."

Poornima looked at him for a moment.

Then she turned back toward the laptop.

Poornima: "Fine, expensive husband. But don't take over."

Veeresh chuckled.

Veeresh: "I won't."

Poornima smiled.

Poornima: "Good. Because this restaurant is going to be mine."
