Chapter 46 — The Background Check

Poornima looked through the properties on the laptop again.

Then she suddenly frowned.

Poornima: "Veer, I just didn't do much of the land background check."

Veeresh looked at her.

Veeresh: "What do you mean?"

Poornima: "I checked the location, size, price, parking and everything related to the restaurant."

She paused.

Poornima: "But I forgot to properly check whether these lands belong to the government or whether there are any cases on them."

Veeresh became serious.

Poornima: "I don't know if there are any legal disputes or pending cases. I completely forgot that part."

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "That's important."

Poornima looked slightly worried.

Poornima: "I know. That's why I wanted to ask you."

Veeresh took the laptop from her and looked through the property details.

Veeresh: "Don't worry. I will look into it."

Poornima's face immediately relaxed.

Poornima: "Really?"

Veeresh: "Yes. I'll check the ownership records, whether the land is government-owned, whether there are any pending cases or disputes, and whether there are any restrictions on using the property for your restaurant."

Poornima smiled.

Poornima: "Thank you, Veer."

Veeresh looked at her.

Veeresh: "You don't have to thank me."

Poornima smiled wider.

Poornima: "Still, thank you."

She leaned back against the sofa.

Poornima: "I knew my expensive husband would be useful for something."

Veeresh raised an eyebrow.

Veeresh: "Only something?"

Poornima laughed.

Poornima: "Don't get too happy."

Veeresh shook his head with a small smile.

For once, their conversation wasn't about their marriage, their past, or the pain between them.

It was about Poornima's future.

And Veeresh was determined to make sure that when she finally built her dream, she wouldn't have to worry about something as important as the land being legally unsafe.
