Chapter 57 — The Day Before the Opening

Poornima wiped the happy tears from her face and walked toward Noor.

She picked Bubba up in her arms and carried her into the restaurant.

Poornima: "Bubba, look!"

Noor looked around curiously.

Poornima: "This is Mumma's restaurant."

Noor smiled and clapped her little hands.

Poornima laughed.

Poornima: "Do you like it?"

Noor: "Mumma!"

Poornima kissed her cheek.

Poornima: "Yes, Bubba. Mumma made this."

She walked around the restaurant with Noor in her arms, showing her the tables, the lights and the beautiful interiors.

That evening, Poornima returned to the Qureshi mansion carrying several shopping bags.

Everyone looked at her curiously.

She placed the bags on the sofa.

Mrs. Qureshi: "Beta, what did you bring?"

Poornima smiled.

Poornima: "Clothes."

She began taking them out one by one.

First, she handed a beautiful outfit to Mrs. Qureshi.

Poornima: "Maa, this is for you."

Mrs. Qureshi smiled warmly.

Mrs. Qureshi: "For me?"

Poornima: "Yes. You have to wear it tomorrow for the puja and opening ceremony."

She then gave another outfit to Mr. Qureshi.

Poornima: "Papa, this is yours."

Mr. Qureshi smiled.

Mr. Qureshi: "Thank you, beta."

Then Poornima took out a beautiful blue frock.

Noor immediately reached toward it.

Poornima: "And this is for Bubba."

Noor smiled.

Poornima: "Blue frock for my little girl."

She kissed Noor's forehead.

Then Poornima picked up another package and walked toward Veeresh.

She handed it to him.

Poornima: "And this is yours."

Veeresh opened it and saw a kurta and pyjama.

He looked at her.

Veeresh: "For me?"

Poornima: "Yes."

She pointed at the clothes.

Poornima: "You should wear this tomorrow, Veer."

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "I will, madam."

Poornima rolled her eyes.

Poornima: "Good."

Finally, she showed everyone her own saree.

Poornima: "And this is what I'm wearing."

Mrs. Qureshi smiled proudly.

Mrs. Qureshi: "You chose everything so beautifully."

Poornima looked at everyone.

Tomorrow wasn't just another day.

It was the opening of the restaurant she had dreamed about for years.

And she wanted her entire family beside her when she opened its doors.
