Chapter 68 — Going Home

Poornima returned home after spending the morning at Noor.

She walked toward the study to take the laptop she had been using for her restaurant work.

When she entered, Veeresh looked up from his files.

Veeresh: "Poons, you're here?"

Poornima nodded.

Poornima: "I needed the laptop."

Veeresh: "Okay."

Veeresh watched her pick up the laptop.

For a moment, he became slightly nervous, hoping she wouldn't notice some of the personal things he had kept in the study.

Poornima didn't pay attention to anything else.

She simply took the laptop and returned to the room.

Veeresh followed after a while and sat nearby while she started working.

After a few minutes, Poornima looked up from the laptop.

Poornima: "Veer, how did the nomination go?"

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "Good."

Poornima nodded and returned to her work.

After a moment, Veeresh asked,

Veeresh: "Did Bubba come home?"

Poornima: "Yes. She's playing with her toys."

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "Good."

Poornima continued working for a few minutes before suddenly looking at him.

Poornima: "Veer, tomorrow I'm going home for a few days with Bubba."

Veeresh looked at her.

Veeresh: "Why?"

Poornima stared at him.

Poornima: "What do you mean, why?"

She rolled her eyes.

Poornima: "Asshole, I'm visiting my parents."

Veeresh smiled.

Veeresh: "Oh."

Poornima closed the laptop.

Poornima: "And you're coming after you finish your work."

Veeresh looked at her curiously.

Veeresh: "I'm coming?"

Poornima nodded confidently.

Poornima: "Yes. You're coming to the Rathore mansion."

Veeresh smiled.

Poornima: "I'm used to sleeping with you now, so you're coming."

Veeresh's smile widened.

Veeresh: "Sure."

Poornima picked up the laptop again.

Poornima: "Good. Don't make excuses."

Veeresh: "I won't."

He watched her return to her work with a quiet smile.

Not long ago, Poornima had wanted nothing to do with him.

Now she was casually telling him that she was used to having him beside her at night.

To Veeresh, that small sentence meant more than she realized.
