Chapter 71 — Beside Him
The Chief Minister campaign had officially begun.
Veeresh's rallies were getting bigger every day. Crowds gathered wherever he went, party workers surrounded the stages, and the flags of Yuva Sena filled the streets.
But this time, something was different.
Poornima was beside him.
She didn't try to take the spotlight.
She didn't give speeches unless Veeresh asked her to.
She simply stood beside her husband, quietly supporting him.
At the first major rally, Veeresh stepped onto the stage.
The crowd erupted in cheers.
Poornima followed him, holding Bubba's hand.
Noor looked around curiously at the huge crowd before holding tightly onto Poornima.
Veeresh looked at them both and smiled.
For years, politics had been everything to him.
Power.
Elections.
Strategy.
Campaigns.
But now, standing on that stage, he had something far more important beside him.
His wife.
And their daughter.
Veeresh took the microphone.
Veeresh: "Today, I don't stand here alone."
He looked toward Poornima and Bubba.
Veeresh: "My family is standing beside me."
The crowd cheered loudly.
Poornima smiled at him.
She didn't say anything.
She simply stood there, proud of him.
From that day onward, Poornima accompanied Veeresh to almost every campaign.
Whether it was a massive rally or a small gathering, she stood beside him.
Sometimes she held Bubba.
Sometimes Bubba stood between them.
Sometimes Poornima simply listened while Veeresh spoke to the people.
She never tried to change who he was.
She simply reminded him that when the political world became overwhelming, he still had a home to return to.
One evening, after another long rally, Veeresh came down from the stage and walked toward them.
Bubba immediately ran toward him.
Noor: "Papa!"
Veeresh picked her up.
Veeresh: "There is my Bubba."
Poornima smiled.
Poornima: "She was waiting for you."
Veeresh looked at Poornima.
Veeresh: "And you?"
Poornima smiled.
Poornima: "I was waiting too."
Veeresh's expression softened.
He looked at his wife and daughter together.
He had spent years chasing power.
But now he realized what actually made him happy.
Having Poornima beside him.
Having Bubba in his arms.
And knowing that, no matter how difficult the political battle became, his family would be standing with him.
Veeresh quietly held Poornima's hand.
She squeezed it back.
And together, the three of them walked away from the stage as the crowd continued cheering behind them.
