Chapter 73 — Their Own Legacy
The campaign office was busy that evening.
Veeresh had just finished a meeting with his party members when a few senior members approached him with smiles.
One of them looked at Poornima and then at Veeresh.
Party Member: "Sir, your child will surely take over your political legacy one day."
Veeresh smiled, but he shook his head.
Veeresh: "I don't want that."
The members looked surprised.
Veeresh: "I want my children to make our name proud, but not because they have to follow my path."
He looked toward Poornima.
Veeresh: "Whether they choose politics, business, medicine, education, sports, art, or anything else, I will support them."
He smiled proudly.
Veeresh: "They should choose the field they love. I don't want them to live my dream. I want them to build their own."
Poornima, who had been standing nearby, heard every word.
Her expression softened.
Those words meant a lot to her.
She remembered how strongly she had fought for her own dreams and how much she had wanted her father to be proud of her.
Veeresh looked toward her.
Veeresh: "Poons, our children should always know that their parents will stand behind them, whatever they choose."
Poornima smiled.
Poornima: "Yes, Veer."
She quietly placed her hand in his.
For her, that moment showed her another side of Veeresh.
He wasn't thinking about creating another political heir.
He was thinking about giving their children the freedom to become whoever they wanted to be.
And Poornima couldn't have been happier hearing that.
