Chapter 16 – Singh Mansion

The private jet finally landed in Germany.

After completing the necessary formalities, Veeresh and Poornima went straight to his house.

The moment Poornima entered, she stopped.

The house was enormous.

It was beautifully designed, elegant, and extremely quiet.

For just two people, it felt almost too big.

Veeresh noticed her expression but didn't comment.

Veeresh: "I'm going to freshen up."

Poornima nodded.

Veeresh: "I have a board meeting today. I'll be late."

Poornima: "Okay."

Veeresh: "Make yourself comfortable. Consider this your home."

Poornima looked around.

Veeresh continued,

Veeresh: "If you need anything, write it down. Whatever you require, we'll get it."

Poornima: "Okay."

Veeresh picked up his suit.

Veeresh: "My suit is ready?"

Poornima pointed toward it.

Poornima: "Yes. I kept it there."

Veeresh nodded.

Veeresh: "Thank you."

He went upstairs to freshen up.

Poornima looked around the house again.

There were maids for almost everything.

Someone was arranging the flowers.

Someone was taking care of the kitchen.

Someone was organizing the rooms.

Someone else was handling the laundry.

Poornima quietly thought,

There are so many people working here.

She wasn't used to such a lifestyle.

She went into the kitchen and decided to make Veeresh some tea.

A little later, Veeresh came downstairs.

He was dressed in his perfectly tailored suit, his hair neatly styled, and his expression already back to the serious businessman she had seen in India.

He noticed the cup in front of him.

Veeresh: "Poons."

Poornima looked at him.

Poornima: "Yes?"

Veeresh: "I don't drink tea."

She looked surprised.

Poornima: "You don't?"

Veeresh shook his head.

Veeresh: "No. In the morning, I usually have about 30 ml of whiskey."

Poornima stared at him for a moment.

Before she could say anything, Veeresh picked up the tea she had prepared.

He took a sip.

Poornima: "But you just said you don't drink tea."

Veeresh looked at the cup.

Veeresh: "I don't."

He took another sip.

Veeresh: "But you made it."

Poornima couldn't help smiling.

He finished the tea quietly.

Then he picked up his briefcase.

Veeresh: "I'll be back late."

Poornima nodded.

Poornima: "Okay."

Veeresh walked toward the door.

Before leaving, he looked back at her.

Veeresh: "Make yourself comfortable, Poons."

Poornima smiled faintly.

Poornima: "Okay."

The door closed behind him.

Veeresh left for Singh Industries.

Poornima stood alone in the enormous house.

She looked around once more.

For the first time, she truly realized it.

This wasn't a visit.

This was her home now.

Germany was her new country.

And Veeresh Singh Rajawat was her husband.
