Chapter 30 – Lean on Me

The night grew quieter as both of them finally went to sleep.

Poornima was lying peacefully when, sometime during the night, she felt Veeresh move closer to her.

His hand rested gently around her waist.

She opened her eyes for a moment and looked at him.

He was fast asleep.

The man who always seemed so strong and composed during the day looked completely different while sleeping.

Poornima smiled softly.

She didn't move his hand away.

Instead, she gently placed her hand over his.

In her heart, she whispered,

Lean on me, Veer.

You don't have to carry everything alone.

She looked at his peaceful face.

I'm always here beside you.

A small smile appeared on her lips.

Poornima whispered softly, almost as if he could hear her in his sleep.

Poornima: "You don't need to worry about anything."

She gently squeezed his hand.

Poornima: "I'm here."

Veeresh remained asleep, unaware of her words.

Poornima closed her eyes again.

She rested comfortably beside him, allowing him to remain close.

And with that quiet thought in her heart, she fell asleep again.

For the first time, Poornima didn't feel like she was simply sharing a room with her husband.

She felt like she was slowly becoming his safe place.
